I think it means that we arn't sending enough letters and e-mails!

I think his nomination isn't getting enough attention and people have forgotten what he has done!

EDIT:

Where's the link to the DU action alert concerning at least a hearing or fillibuster for Negroponte's nomination?

4. Yes she did.
I don't like it, but I'm not going to dive down her throat and begin the calls of "ship jumping" for Mrs. Boxer. As much as I disagree with her decision here, she is still my hero and warrior. This is a notch on the wrong belt though.

5. It means they can't tie him to the death squads...
Sad as that is, he denies any involvement, and apparently didn't leave a paper trail. If there were witnesses who could tie him to the death squads, they probably died in a small plane crash, or committed "suicide".

Boxer has nothing to gain by alluding to Negroponte's shady past unless she can prove something.

Boxer is choosing her battles. I think she is choosing them wisely.

Its politics.

She's a politician.

27. Oh, I agree that he does....
I wish she would vote against the appointment, but I can also see her strategy in not doing so. I certainly don't think that makes her a traitor or DINO.

Lets see what happens with the judicial nominations.

I'm not asking for her to agree with me all the time. I am expecting her (and, the rest of the Democrats) to have the courage to vote against Negroponte and his ilk.

28. You can't really call him a torturer if you don't have solid proof.
Like someone said before, why make a fuss about and make an ass of yourself if you can't prove it? I don't like Negroponte but Boxer may be privy to more information than we are. She also has the right to make unpopular decisions without being labeled a DINO. Considering what she has done in the recent past for us, she is FAR from a neo-con, and I get tired of seeing good Democrats getting slammed because they deviate ever so slightly from what the ideological purists demand.

37. Perhaps not, but we can sure as hell accuse him of being one.
Seeing as how he hasn't been indicted or brought to trial for his "alleged" crimes. As far as I know, Alberto Gonzales wasn't "proven" to be in charge of torture either. Rice hasn't been "proven" to be a lousy SoS either.

I'm an admirer of Senator Boxer, and promoted her for a run for the presidency on this board, long before it was fashionable to do so. But, that doesn't give her an instant pass on a bad vote.

I would not lump Kerry and Boxer with Clinton.

They've done a decent job opposing this year.

Clinton deserves the bashing she gets IMO.

Boxer is a good Senator, but she seems un-informed about this.

22. It's not Dem bashing
The person is simply asking if Boxer is voting to confirm Negroponte. It is a perfectly valid question. Labeling it "bashing" only serves to stifle discussion, not promote it. That's something we see all too often with conservatives who don't want to hear the music.

No matter how egregious that vote may be. You may notice that none of the posts by them contain a defense of her decision.

Are you defending her vote? Do you consider it "bashing" to disagree with her vote and call her to task for it? Or, should we roll over like our our alleged "leaders" are so fond of doing?

That doesn't mean we disown that politician. But we can sure write to them and tell them why we disagree.

she didn't support him when he was chosen for his current position, she feels he has proved that he is a strong leader. Something to that extent, CNN was on in the background when I was getting ready for work today. I cannot give you specific quotes.
