Impeachment: Possible scenarios ?
Does anyone think there can ever be a viable Congressional movement to impeach * ? It appears there is enough evidence. Just as much, by sheer weight, as there was for Nixon.

1. The biggest impediment is a RepubliCON Congress.
That's where the evidence needs to have impact.

5. Actually, most of those cons hate his guts
after being bullied for four solid years, lied to about Iraq, lied to about the prescription drug costs, lied to about everything from how the war is going to what sort of financial trouble the gummint is in. The real impediment is Thomas Delay, who holds the GOP party purse strings. If they don't toe the line, they don't get reelection support from the party and Delay will find some wingnut to run against them.

That's it in a nutshell. If any of these actions against Delay in Texas manages to run into an honest judge and he's frogmarched off to Club Fed, expect all hell to break loose in Congress.

Some pubbies in Congress are still Goldwater pubbies, concerned with fiscal restraint. They'd dearly love to get out from under Delay's jackboot and take on the kleptocracy.

3. Nope
Not unless something very very big happens that we don't know about. But nothing that's happened so far will lead to impeachment by a Republican congress. In fact, none of it would've led to impeachment by a Democratic congress, IMO.

4. Not a chance as long as the GOP controls Congress.

Doesn't matter if there's a videotape of Jim/Jeff riding Shrubby like a rented mule; they'll never vote to impeach, not for anything. Anyhow -- even if the Chimpinator went away, we'd get DICK Cheney, so what would be the point? We'd be trading Alfred E. Neuman for Darth Vader. Spectacularly bad presidents in either event.

7. At least the public would know what we're getting with Darth Vader. LOL
And I have enough faith in human nature to still believe that the professional politician RepubliCONs in Congress would impeach if they had a videotape like that. But not much short of that.

6. Nope...
GOP House would never let it happen even if Bush was found to eat toddlers.

8. It's like boiling frogs...the deficits haven't risen to the extent that
they're feeling any financial pain, yet. Wait a little bit longer. No new net jobs...more supplemental Iraq war budget requests...more outsourcing...dollar continues its slide...foreigners start to question investing in more US debt...

It gets worse with the 'Worst President, Ever' but you need to wait just a little bit longer. Plus, he can wake up and smell the coffee and start to undo the Concentration of Wealth in the US, and tax the 'base'...but I doubt it.
