Gannon: The silence is deafening.
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 07:18 AM by livvy
Maybe someone else has already brought this up and I missed it, but the following thought occurred to me: Why isn't it the White House and it's vicious little inhabitants the ones asking the questions about Gan-kert? In the real world they should be the ones to have the most concern since they were directly affected. I mean if you discovered something in your house that didn't belong there, wouldn't you be the most concerned? Wouldn't you be the one pushing the police to find out how it got there, who put it in your house, and how they got it in there without your knowing it? You wouldn't fail to answer any and all questions the police asked in order to help them solve the mystery, or certainly not remain silent on the issue. You wouldn't be making excuses to try to explain the situation and encourage the investigators to let it drop. Then if you found out that the person who had been in your house had a rather shady background, it would cause further concern, wouldn't it? You'd be freaked out that such a thing could happen, outraged that someone violated your rights! You'd want to do anything you could to catch the guilty party and make sure they were held accountable for violating your space.
And yet, we have the nitwit and his nasty little troop, standing back, quietly accepting of the situation with a nonchalant attitude. Oh well, shit happens, ya' know! Their response to what most would consider a serious breech of security is very telling. Their silence speaks volumes. <edit>It is so obvious, yet this is not something that is being asked.
Why does anyone buy into this? We need to keep pushing the issue. It's just a small slice of the criminal pie, but at least someone has made the first cut.
:wtf:

1. Why would you ask questions...
... about something which you knew all the details and didn't worry? And about something which no one watching you would ask questions, either....

2. if Gannon were a Dem
the spews-media would be in the midst of a feeding frenzy

this has all the makings of a non-stop head-banging bather festival

it has "conspiracy", "insider information", "special favors", "white house connections", and oh yeah it has SEX SEX SEX

the only thing missing is a blue dress -- has anyone gone through Gannon's closet lately?

They haven't directly blamed Clinton for this but the closest I've heard is a feeble excuse of "it's done all the time".....

7. If it involved a Democrat, they'd already be setting up the chairs
for an impeachment hearing.

3. George is off to Yurp to piss the press of in countries who do have
some reporters with jounalistic integrity. I don't think they'll take it upon themselves to ask the questions about the the lying phony prostitute in the sponsored by the White House, that's OUR JOB. But as far as the phony freak intrudes on and impacts their lives, their press will be honest enough to report it.

We have no more press in America (except for a very very few lone holdouts). They're whores like Gannon, but it isn't sex with them, it's something more disgusting. It's their honesty and integrity that they pandered out to this administration.

8. The lack of WH concern and WH failure to investigate says volumes
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 08:48 AM by wishlist
CNN interview by Carol Lin of blogger John Aravosis was very good last night in emphasizing the word stonewalling to describe the WH failure to answer questions about why and how this unqualified man with such a shady background got credentials and WH access. She asked Aravosis about the difficulty in getting any more information from the WH about Gannon and why bloggers are pursuing the story instead of main stream reporters. He answered that main stream reporters are reluctant to pursue because they fear retaliation and loss of access to WH.

WH has track record of stonewalling and discouraging any kind of investigations whenever they have serious problems to cover up (such as Plame and the 9/11 investigations into the warnings that Bush & Co ignored and denied receiving.)

So far all of the WH stonewalling has succeeded with no serious legal repercussions or public backlash due to the Republican political power along with the media complicity and/or complacency.

9. this should be the real tell-all
that this guy was a plant. No one in the WH has addressed this. How convienient for Bush to be out of the country now. They must think that if they don't address it it will go away.

10. Remember Al Franken et al mumbling that NEWS media is profit motivated?
Ratings and all that BS? Franken had a stupid humus joke he peddled everywhere to illustrate that ratings were driving coverage.
NOT OF THE NEWS! I screamed every time. News are propaganda - and they are bought and paid for - for years (as in subsidizing of loser Moonie Times, NY Post) or cancelling Donahue, Spin Room, halving Crossfire - in spite of their GREAT ratings.
I have been screaming this for 5 years - there is no free market where news are concerned. They HAVE to serve the BFEE purpose!!!!!(creating a new reality)

''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And
while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll
act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and
that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you,
all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''
Bush aide to Ron Suskind

12. I have a friend who works in the newsroom of the
CBS affiliate in LA. He swears up and down that networks are driven by ratings and the bottom line. Well, sex sells, and you'd think there would be nothing jucier than the story of a hooker in the WH press room. Wrong. Apparently there's some sort of exemption for repuke hookers. Guess my friend is spouting bullshit.

13. Anyone know what dimwit's schedule
is in Yurp? (I love that one, thanks acmavm)

Maybe we could email some of the journalists over there and
urge them to ask some questions. I think most of them would
probably enjoy putting junior on the spot.
