Completely ignoring the security breach that Guckert represented.

1. Get those e-mails and faxes flowing. We know what it is really about.
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 11:59 AM by hector459
And yes, it is about sex. It's about security. It's about hypocrisy.
It's all about lying. It's all about propganda. It's about gay prostitution and maybe even rampant through Rove's WH.

I just wonder why the MARINES haven't weighed in on this. Makes me really wonder about "always faithful."

3. Of course. Those darn Gays are the problem. And the media.
The righties think that they are guilty by association with evil gays and the evil media. So it isn't a Bushie problem that can't be solved by more attempts to control the media and bash gays.

4. A lot of people on both sides are completely..
...ignoring the security aspect, and the propaganda aspect, and the funding aspect of the story. Sad, isn't it?

5. that piece will do more damage with the far right than the germane parts
the response details too many of the allegations, and with the stupids, where they see smoke, they assume there's fire, as they did with Clinton. Congress needs to pursue the serious angle. We need to make the jethros squirm.

6. my email to author (with his address)
you missed the point on Gannon/Guckert

Why is president Bush and his administration so afraid of real reporters that they have to hire fake ones to lob softball questions? Why was this guy with no legitimate press experience let into the White House when he couldn't get a press pass in congress?

If President Bush's policies and ideas are right, he should be able to defend them when questioned by a non-deferential press. Even if he can't answer them, he should at least listen to the question without retaliating against the questioner.

Thomas Jefferson envisioned the press as an informal check and balance on the government that works by letting the public know what their elected officials are doing. If knowledge is power, the more the Bush administration keeps secrets and manages the news, the more he neuters us and our democracy.

9. They need to investigate the money angle, too
Bruce Eberle is bankrolling GOPUSA and is a HUGE fund-raiser for the GOP and is a snake, too. Used $1.9 million of $2.2 million raised to rescue Vietnam POWs as "expenses" and not one thing was done to help POWs.

McCain has called Bruce Eberle's organization the "most despicable human beings to ever run a scam"

11. Most Amerikans get bored easily.
Dry facts and details that don't involve titilating highlights fly past and evaporate instantly. Also, most Amerikans do not want this Pres. and his Cult to be maligned in any way because it is unpatriotic in time of war. The Rove Prop-up-ganda machine in complicity with the Whore Media is more pervasive than any mass brainwashing has ever been. Were it not for the Net this story would never have surfaced.

13. I dont see how making the story "sexy" helps them or hurts us...
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 05:04 PM by Dr Fate
...but it DOES sell papers & gets ratings- and even Republicans have to figure out how to make extra money these days! :)

Making the story "sexy" is GOOD- it gets the foot in the door so we can start bringing up the dry stuff too...

The trick is that it gets "swing-voters" and others who would normally switch the channel interested...

It's all up to top DEMs like Dean or Kerry as to where the story ultimatley goes- we cant expect the media to keep on telling us how corrupt they are...

...the big DEMS are going to need to go on TV and talk about this SOON...

15. Most DU-ers are doing the same thing.
It's always been about the lying and the security breach, and it absolutely repulsed me how many DUers absolutely REVELED in the 'gay sex' aspect of the whole affair.
