What do conservatives claim to stand for?
I know this may sound like a stupid question, but please indulge me.

I've really been trying to figure this out recently. FReeperland (and anything else heavily Republican) seems to just be filled with vengeful anti-liberals who will do anything to see Hillary Clinton fry.

But what do they really stand for?

"Liberal" and "Progressive," to me anyway, mean forward-thinking, compassionate, loving, caring, giving. Thinking not just of yourself but of others -- others alive now and future generations.

"Conservative" seems to mean fearful of anything new, clinging to old ways, old customs even if they are out-dated.

If we stand for growth and progess and equality, are they really against those things? What do they claim to be for?

1. They stand for a lot of buzzwords they can't define
like "family values." Like "the rule of law." Like "patriotism." Like "national security."

In other words, they stand for appearances and lipservice, not for anything solid, which is why most of them resort to screaming when anybody tries to talk sensibly with them. It's why they're suckers for symbolism wihtout substance.

5. The Real Definitons of their Buzzwords
"family values": as determined by their perverted view of Bible.

"the rule of law": any law that is not applied equally to the United States.

"patriotism": means nationalism, like what Hitler and other dictators throughout history have been in favor of.

"national security": a police state, where they make the rules and those that disagree are locked away or worse.

3. The Four "G's": God, Guns, Greed, and anti-Gay
The masses, the electoral base of the Republicans stand for God, Guns, and anti-Gay.

The corporate elite, the financial/power base of the Republicans stands for Greed. They don't give a damn about the other stuff, as long as they can keep cashing in.

4. War, the rest they stand against
against social security and other social safety net programs
against public education
against environmental protection
against gays, minorities and non-Christians
againt abortion AND birth control and womens' rights
against a liveable minimum wage
against workers' and patients rights

AND WORST OF ALL, THEY WON'T COME OUT AND CLAIM ANY OF THIS UP FRONT! THEY CLAIM THEY'RE REFORMING SOMETHING WHEN WHAT THEY ARE REALLY DOING IS UNDER FUNDING IT AND BANKRUPTING IT.

As Andrew Shepard in American President said in his wonderful speech in the movie, I thought they didn't get it but I was wrong, they can't sell it. (not and be honest anyway).

6. They stand for putting their suddenly pregnant teenaged --
-- girls on Greyhounds for "shaming" the household;

For lilly-white gated communities;

For private (usually) Chrisitan schools with their own shiney yellow buses;

For new clothes at Easter to wear to church;

For sharp tax accountants and lawyers to make sure inheritances are tidy;

For very expensive missile defense systems that don't happen to work;

For the apartheid government of South Africa, since after all, Reagan liked it;

For the brutal oppressive government of the Phillippines under Marcos, since Reagan was for that, too;

For tax cuts for the rich, because only the rich are clever enough to handle money;

For abstinence-only programs, because OUR teenagers don't even THINK about sex;

and not least,

For the Bible, because all life's questions are answered in its pages.

And to those smarty-pants liberals up north in Boston and other nasty places like that -- well, shoo!

7. I've noticed that Righties prefer things made of metal,
like coins and guns and tanks and golf clubs. Lefties generally prefer people.

Righties get in trouble over money and power. Lefties get in trouble over sex.

These are, of course, ridiculously broad generalizations. Right?

8. They stand for the pledge of allegiance and they stand for hymns.
The rest of the time they're pretty much "face in the pillow, butt in the air" over there if recent news is any indication.

10. If they said they stud for the pledge
then they would stand for "liberty and justice for all." Obviously they don't if they are against civil rights for LGBT community.

11. Not even liberty and justice for their own voters.
Only the country club members. Pity the average repuke on the street can't grasp that.

9. Isn't it George Carlin's line that "Conservatives want --
-- live babies so they can have dead soldiers" ?
