The Hooker, Line and Sinker by Howard Kurtz
This is an article from our beloved Howard Kurtz. Guess what? He's not talking about Jeff Gannon.

The Hooker, Line And Sinker
By Howard Kurtz
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, September 4, 1996; Page B01
Sherry Rowlands, the suddenly famous Virginia call girl, is taking all the credit for the downfall of presidential adviser Dick Morris. She says the Republicans had nothing to do with it.

"The only person in the world I knew politically was Dick Morris," she told the syndicated tabloid show "Hard Copy" in her first television interview. "Who do you call? I mean . . . you don't go in the phone book and look up Bob Dole." The two-part "Hard Copy" interview is scheduled to air on Baltimore's Channel 2 tonight and tomorrow night at 12:05 a.m. .

As for Morris's downfall, Rowlands said: "Someone as intelligent as he is should have kept his lip buttoned when he unzipped his pants. I mean, how can you maneuver worlds, and he can't even control what he's doing in his own room with a paid lady?"

Morris's resignation was announced hours before President Clinton delivered his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention last Thursday night. His departure came after the Star, a supermarket tabloid, published allegations by the $200-an-hour prostitute that she had a long-running relationship with Morris. The Star, which says it paid Rowlands less than $50,000 for the story, made her available to "Hard Copy." A spokesman for the program, which often pays for interviews, declined to say whether Rowlands was paid.

1. Maybe we need to start our own Tabloid
Since the Star and the National Enquirer are all too afraid to touch the Bush's, we need to start a new tabloid, just to sensationalize all these scandals.

2. Thanks for this! What part of hypocrisy doesn't Kurtz understand
one has to wonder. It is even more proof that Kurtz is covering for bush and 'Gannon'. Why??? What little credibility he may have had he's completely thrown away with his latest actions. I wonder what he was promised that makes it worthwhile to him?

9. Here's why. Read it, study it, spread it.
(snip)
The very next piece is designed to cast doubt on the credibility and objectivity of Jackie Bensen, a reporter for the local NBC affiliate in Washington who lives with a police officer. You can tell the agenda of the reporter when at the top of the piece he writes, “She sees no problem with the fact that she lives with an assistant D.C. police chief, Peter Newsham, who oversees ethics investigations and disciplinary reviews as head of the department's Office of Professional Responsibility.”

Meaning, of course, that he does see a problem with it.

“It’s ironic that Kurtz would suggest a conflict of interest between a couple. Kurtz is married to Sheri Annis, who is a GOP public relations strategist supporting the re-election of George W. Bush. Annis also was part of Arnold Schwartzneggar’s brain trust in his recall election. She also worked on a California voter proposition that would force immigrant children to speak English in school. She appears regularly on Chris Matthews’s “Hardball” program as a conservative pundit and writes for the National Review. She also worked on a campaign to stop “living wage” laws. She even calls her company Fourth Estate Strategies.

Not a bad idea, of course, when your husband is a prominent member of the Fourth Estate as a Washington Post columnist whose work is seen daily and, in another bit of irony, hosts CNN’s Reliable Sources, which is a program that is supposed to look critically at the media, his Post being one of the 800 lbs. gorillas of the industry.

3. Kurtz is so moronic and hypocritical
that it's not even funny. And he goes on TX and says people shouldn't be prying into Gannon's private life. Good god!

6. Waht an effing whore.
I mean Howie the K.

We need to take him down for his shilling on behalf of his wife, and mess her career prospects up too.

I'm not sneaky enough to come up with anything, but I trust some of my fellow DUers are.
