Bush with Chirac quote: "That oughta mean something."
As if. He thinks just showing up for the photo op speaks for itself. And apparently it does.

He also likes to say "I know what it's like to be president."

Why does he talk about himself in the abstract? He speaks as if he is a character playing a role and "that oughta mean something."

2. Agreed. Also
"That oughta send a message" is one of his favorites. It's kind of like a 3 year old saying look at me! look at me! Unfortunately it is not a 3 year old, but the president.

Scary thing is it works for most simpletons.

3. What strikes me is he seems to be talking about someone else
"I know what it's like to be president."
Not "I know what it is to be president."
He knows what its LIKE to be president.

Cuz they let him sit in the big chair and sometimes Cheney lets him hold the football.

7. Right. If Cheney were the frontman they'd never get away with any of it
Learned that lesson with Ronnie Raygun. No more Tricky Dicks!

5. He has to try and suck out any positives to up his self-esteem. Remember
how 'proud' he was of having testified to the 9/11 Investigation/Committee? "I answered all their questions!!" with Cheney holding his hand.

It's so strange watching him make his speech in that elegant hall in Brussels, before scores of European dignitaries, READING! his speech and doing his 7-year-old-learning-to-e-nun-ci-ate routine. So proud!

Also weird to see him do a Reagan impression that makes Reagan look good.

:grr:
