Poll question: Will "GroupThink" bring down the * Administration?
Edited on Tue Feb-22-05 10:15 AM by spooky3
As many of you know, the perils of GroupThink have been talked about since the Kennedy Bay of Pigs fiasco. According to Janis, who wrote the book, GroupThink involves squelching dissent, stereotyping outsiders, etc., so that the power group members unify towards their goals. But because they suppress info that is contrary to their world views, underestimate or misconstrue the "enemy", refuse to consider alternative actions, etc., their hubris nearly always leads to failure in the long run. In the Kennedy administration, Janis believed that they caught the problems and corrected many of them, as seen in the subsequent better handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

So, do you see signs of GroupThink in the present administration? If so, what will happen?
