Who's the sen. from CO who supported Gonzales?
I'm firing off a fax to Biden and Carper and I wanted to say something about the DINOs. I have

Zell Miller
Joe Lieberman

Anybody else I should list? Here's what I have so far for the letter:

Dear Senator (Biden or Carper):
I am writing you to ask that you sign on to Senator Durbin's letter regarding an inquiry into the Gannon/Guckert media plant. This is something that needs to be addressed. The propaganda that is coming out of this administration is disgraceful and the payola is curtesy of our tax dollars.

The Democrats need to stick together on this issue and MANY issues. WE MUST BE A UNIFIED PARTY! This is just the tip of the iceberg. We must forge ahead and keep all of these breaches of American trust out in the open if the Democrats hope to regain either the House or the Senate in 2006. If we don't, we all lose!

If you decide to ignore this issue or support the Republican side of the house on this matter, then I think you should consider changing parties. We don't need weak, middle of the road, "play nice" democrats representing us. This is a fight for the future of our nation, democracy itself and all the ideals that Americans hold dear and that have made this country great in the past, AND it requires that you step up to bat.

The Dems lost representation in Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman and ____
As a citizen of Delaware, and a Carper voter since I could cast a ballot, I hope we don't lose you too.

10. Here's vid clip of his vote justification
Salazar about Gonzales

The ONLY good thing about this is that he gave some blowback to the Repubs about using the race card.

3. Ken Salazar,
and unfortunately, he ran as a DINO. It was supposed to be a big selling point in Colorado.

7. None of you saw Salazar coming, did you? Didn't expect this?
Edited on Wed Feb-23-05 02:51 PM by Selatius
I got the tip off months ago in an article I posted in the news section. Al From pointed to him as an example and said Democrats could learn a thing or two from him.

I'm sorry, but I'm not buying. The tried and true method is to attack with "economic populism." Everyone says you've got to compromise away your principles in order to win, it seems, but I haven't seen many say the best answer is to stick to your guns and stand up for the people.

That's all that is required: Stand up for the people. Jobs, the economy, health care, education, the environment--these are the things progressives have always trounced Republicans on.

No, instead we have leaders who insist on playing in the Republican arena of abortion, gay marriage, and other "moral values" issues. I say don't play their game. If they want to suck you into their game, try to suck them into your game at the same time, don't just walk into their pit and expect to do well.

8. the alternative was to elect a Republican
and yes, many liberals in Colorado saw it coming - and voted for him anyway. Because Ken Salazar is preferable any day of the week to Pete Coors.

Salazar is on the record as opposing the gay marriage amendment and he is on the record as opposing Bush's SS privitization plan. Salazar is pro-choice. Unlike Coors.

If you lived here, who would you have voted for?

9. Well, I sure as hell did,
but then, I spent time working for the Mike Miles campaign, for which I got raked over the coals on here a few times.

I really wasn't expecting anything different from Salazar so I'm not going to complain. He was obviously what the majority of Colorado Democrats preferred when presented with a clear choice, so I'm not sure they've got much call to be complaining at this point either.

My only real hopes for Salazar are that he doesn't pull a Campbell, and that at least on a few issues important to Democrats, he will actually stand up. Beyond that, we in Colorado pretty much got what we knowingly chose.
