Every year for the last three years President Bush has had his annual physical in August. This year the Bush administration has announced that the president will not be taking his physical until after the election. Time constraints of his re-election campaign are given as the major reason for the change. Exactly how long does a physical take? Not that long really. So is the President really skipping his physical because of time constraints or is he hiding something?

There are many reasons to suspect the President is hiding something. First is the physical evidence visible in the three presidential debates. In the first debate the President was relatively subdued. Most notable was a persistent scowl that seldom left his face unless he was the one speaking. But in the second debate there was a completely different version of the President. He seemed overly aggressive and kept making an odd side to side motion with his lower jaw. Many, including doctors and other medical professionals, suggested the changes were symptomatic of someone who had been given cocaine or a drug with similar effects.

The aggressive behavior and the jaw movement were gone in the third debate but that time the President had an odd white spittle in the corner of his mouth, seemed to have a more reddish than usual complexion, and the left side of his face seemed to droop uncharacteristically. Many, again including doctors and other medical professionals, wondered if the President had suffered a minor stroke or perhaps developed a heart condition. Some noted that the size and placement of the odd bulge evident under the President’s suit jacket at the debates were consistent with a type of special defibrillator that can be worn under one’s clothing. Others suggested that if the President had been medicated at the second debate he could have been given a different medication before the third debate and that the flushing and salivation could be side effects of that medicine.

In addition to the President’s documented deterioration in speaking ability there have been what seem an unusual number of falls and bad bruises. The President fell off a Segway scooter, which is supposedly difficult to do. He reportedly choked on a pretzel and then briefly passed out. He reportedly fell off a bicycle on his ranch after hitting a slick spot caused by rain (even though weather reports contradicted the rain part of the official story). In another incident he injured his knee and had to give up running. And these are just some of the episodes that have been reported. The President also has a curiously low resting heart rate (43 bpm).

Asked if “anyone there” was aware of Guckert before he started showing up for briefings, McClellan said: “No.”

Although his office handles credentials, McClellan said he did not find out that "Gannon" was an alias, or that Talon News had political party links, until recently, when blogs and news organizations began to question Guckert's credentialing. "I checked into it more recently," he told E&P, adding that "the president didn't know who he was."

McClellan also said he did not believe Bush knew Bobby Eberle, the owner of GOPUSA.com and Talon News, despite the fact that Eberle is a Texas Republican activist and was a delegate to the 2000 GOP convention.

"I don't think he has ever known him; I don't think he has ever met him," McClellan told E&P. "I have never asked the president, but I don't think so." Guckert received White House "day pass" credentials within days of signing on with Eberle's obscure Web site in the spring of 2003.

Last week, Guckert, who resigned from Talon News on Wednesday after his real name and links to sex sites were exposed by bloggers--and has also been questioned by the FBI in the Valerie Plame case--told E&P that he attended four Bush press conferences since mid-2003. He also appeared at press briefings regularly. McClellan always called on him as “Jeff.”

Asked if he'd ever talked with Guckert outside the briefing room or at social events, McClellan said, “Nothing like that.”

One of the Defense Department contractors cited in the Abu Ghraib scandal was Titan of San Diego. It has subsequently been discovered that GOPUSA.com, the parent company of Talon News Service, had Steven Findlay on its board of directors. Findlay was the founder of a Marshall, Texas-based defense contractor called Titan Dynamics. In 2002, Allied Defense Group bought Titan Dynamics. In 2002, federal investigators stepped up their ongoing investigation of Titan of San Diego for engaging in fraud on software contracts at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts. Titan's contract partner, Dynamics Research, also came under investigation. Investigators used the term "Titan Dynamics" in describing their investigation at Hanscom.

Another firm tied to contract fraud was Affiliated Computer Systems (ACS) of Dallas, Texas, a company with close ties to Bush and the GOP. In 1992, ACS's chairman Darwin Deason settled with the government on charges relating to the transfer of $61 million of computers and other assets from two Texas savings and loans, First Texas Savings and Gibraltar, just prior to the thrifts' failure. In 2002, 64 percent of ACS's political contributions went to Republicans.

8. The story probably relates to the Eberle/Rathergate angle

This Jeff Gannon story keeps getting bigger. With congress calling for an investigation, and the mainstream media picking up this story, we are in for a very big story. A quick summary of what we know so far:

James D.Guckert (AKA Jeff Gannon) - A gay, male prostitute, who runs an escort service, and had absolutely no journalism credentials, was granted whitehouse press credentials, even though legitimate journalists from established news organizations like CBS and ABC are regularly denied access. Why was this man allowed in the Whitehouse?

It is obvious that the CIA did not conduct a background check on Jeff Gannon, which is required in order for a whitehouse press reporter to be granted a press pass. For starters, Gannon is not even his real name.

Married female whitehouse press reporters are required to use their
maiden name, so there is no excuse for allowing J.D. Guckert to go by a pseudonym, unless they were deliberately trying to hide his past.

Video evidence from C-Span archives shows Gannon in the whitehouse press room in February 2003, with a hard pass. Talon News was not established until March 2003, and did not start regular publishing of articles until April 2003.

When questioned about Gannon, whitehouse press secretary Scott McClellan claimed that Gannon appeared to work for a legitimate news organization that was regularly published, and was granted daily passes, rather than a hard pass. Both video evidence and firsthand accounts from other whitehouse press reporters directly contradict these claims, as it appears that Gannon had a hard pass
before Talon News even existed.

Talon News was created to establish a back-story cover for Gannon, and is funded by GOPUSA. GOPUSA, is run by (Texan) Bobby Eberle.

And now for the big news items:

Plame-Gate and Jeff Gannon are directly linked - Gannon has seemingly
self-implicated in interviews, referring to memos that were supposed to be CIA-Classified material.

Gannon was instrumental in discrediting ambassador Joseph Wilson when he attempted to directly contradict President Bush’s use of the yellowcake uranium as evidence of Iraq’s WMD program.

The leaking of Valerie Plame’s identity was an act bordering on treason.

New evidence indicates that Gannon was also instrumental in the development of RatherGate. New evidence seems to indicate that the forged documents used by Dan Rather actually originated from directly within the Whitehouse, and were later used to
frame Dan Rather.

It appears that Jeff Gannon was used by the Whitehouse to ID Mapes, and was responsible in helping leading the trail away from the Whitehouse by appearing on Hannity & Colmes and providing false information.

See this diary from the Daily Kos for more information on this developing story. Jeff Gannon also played a pivotal role in the Daschle/Thume race, releasing a derogatory story about Daschle in coordination with a Thume campaign ad.

It appears that the neocons were using Gannon as an outlet to play out their political strategies. CBS News has released a story implicating a direct connection between Karl Rove and Jeff Gannon.
