Found this site through an email list I'm on. They are apparently adding more universities. Check it out.

If you are a college student, you might want to consider seeing if there is any interest on your campus in becoming a part of this think tank.

Started by Stanford, I believe.

4. Oh there are definitely liberal think tanks.

Make no mistake.

But this one is unique because it is the first liberal think tank made up entirely of university students. They are grabbing their futures with BOTH hands and I say good for them!

Spread that link far and wide.

that if we didn't have to do our jobs and won the lottery...we'd start a think tank

Any progressive undergrad or graduate student majoring in political science or public policy would especially be interested.

5. Go for it, that would be fantastic.

Contact your campus Democrats organization, and anyone else who would be interested, as this isn't just Democrats, but "progressive" (meaning third party people would be interested, too).

Contact them, because I know they are actively talking to student groups at different universities.

Started at Stanford? :D By the time I got there for grad school, though reputations suggested otherwise, it was the more progressively active studeny body (undergrad and gread) of the Bay area schools *ahem, Cal* Had a soc. prof who recounted the vietnam/hippy era - said it came to campus years after it had been everywhere else in the area (early seventies) - seems that it took longer to take a hold (progressive thought) but has had quite a bit of lasting power. Long way to say - wouldn't surprise me an ounce to see something like this started there :D *just a tad proud for the association*

and look at the contact information. Then go to your school's website and look for a student Democrat organization, a student chapter of Amnesty International, some kind of progressive student organization, contact them, let them know about this. They may want to start doing the ground work now to get a chapter by fall.

And you could meet some people at your university early!

that's one of the biggest things I love about this. Apparently (from what I'm seeing on the website) the students at Standford spent quite a bit of time putting this think tank together then decided to spread it to as many other universities and colleges as they could, all linked together.
