Clintons Threw Lavish Inaugural

Editor, Times-Dispatch: Regarding criticism of the price tag of the 2005 Bush Inauguration:

Where were the complaints and indignation when Clinton supporters spent the equivalent of 25 percent more for their Inauguration? Do I think $40 million is a little over the top? Yes, but this is no reason to drag the death of an honorable Marine into his argument, as one letter-writer did. The Marine, by the way, died defending the writer's right to whine.

While Bill and Hillary were dancing to the tunes of Fleetwood Mac, hundreds of thousands of Christians were being murdered and sold into slavery in Sudan, Saddam Hussein was torturing and killing his own people, and Osama bin Laden was free without challenge to murder Americans around the globe. This whole notion of "bad Bush" is nothing more than tripe from the same "Sore/Loserman" crowd that cannot get over the fact that their liberal ideals have again been rejected by common sense. Lex LaMotte. midlothian.

3. Huh?
25% more? Huh?

And we weren't at "war" with a "war time president."

THis writer may want to check his facts before making a public fool of himself.

4. I like this part --
While Bill and Hillary were dancing to the tunes of Fleetwood Mac, hundreds of thousands of Christians were being murdered and sold into slavery in Sudan, Saddam Hussein was torturing and killing his own people, and Osama bin Laden was free without challenge to murder Americans around the globe.
Hmm...

Does Mr. LaMotte think that Bill Clinton caused those problems before he beame President? Or did he want Big Bad Bill to spend his first day in office solving three major international problems that Presidents Reagan and Bush I neglected for 12 years?

Yeah, Bill had 8 hours each to make those problems go away. Why, if our Wise and Beloved Leader, the Most Excellent George W. Bush, had been in office, he would have had them varmints on the run by noon and spent the rest of the day just a-clearin' brush down at Compound W, his li'l ol' Texas hacienda.

You can't reason with ranters. As Billy Joel once wrote, "you can never argue with a crazy mi-mi-mi-mi-mind; you ought to know by now."

And oh, yes, Osama Bin Laden remains free without challenge to murder Americans around the globe. Who's your Daddy, Lex?

6. Did you hear the Best of Randi Rhodes on AAR today?
She read Kid Rock lyrics over a classical (?) background tape.

It was hysterical. And I doubt Arthea has lyrics quite like Kid Rock.

7. MY Letter for the Opinion page, hope it makes it.
Comments: I have watched the Republican party using 9/11 as a marketing tool to scare people into submission. I think it is shameful, just shameful. Every time this administration wants something they turn to 9/11 or they put fear into the minds of ill informed people. The media is terrible, they don't report on the horrible truth of this war that it was created on a lie. How about this administration and the planted so called reporter "Gannon" who has a porn site on the Internet. What a shameful bunch of boobs.
