Democrats Refuse to Add Sugar to the Lemonade

On MTP this morning, Mo Dowd was asked if she thought, that in hindsight, the invasion of Iraq was a good thing? She responded that she was "old-fashioned" - she believed leaders should tell the truth before going to war. I think that is where a lot of DUers and other Democrats are stuck also.

They believe that the "truth" is important. No matter how much sugar they try to add to the lemonade called Iraq, it is still a lemon. They are stuck with the little detail about lying to go to war and watching thousands and thousands of people die as a result. All this talk about elections and "democracy" in the Middle East is only a feeble attempt at adding sugar to the lemonade.

I prefer a stronger metaphor when over 200,000 human beings have been killed. A 100:1 kill ratio doesn't make it more palatable, either.
