Where's Dick? Last sighting was 2/17 >>>
Edited on Mon Feb-28-05 03:46 PM by Stephanie

Has anyone seen Big Time lately? Here he is at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, February 17. No new pix since then. Is he so ashamed over the parka-in-Auschwitz incident that he's hiding from the paparazzi? Or is he in the bunker planning the Iran invasion? And were you aware of this news regarding an extra $1.5 billion for Halliburton?

Halliburton Co., under scrutiny for its contracts in Iraq (news - web sites), would receive an extra $1.5 billion as part of the Bush administration's additional war spending proposal for fiscal 2005, a senior U.S. Army budget official said on February 25, 2005.

1. Not to steal your thread - but also where are the lst daughters?
Since the much bally-hooed job for Jenna teaching in an inner city, DC charter school fell through, supposedly because she didn't meet the No Child Left Behind requirements, and Babs evidently changed her campaign era statement about working with children with aids "in Africa or eastern Europe", the last I heard, the girls were going to share a condo in Georgetown where they were seen drinking on weeknights in the pubs.
Returning to your question, isn't the vp's office supposed to let the press know of any public appearances?

3. They've all been quiet lately
Rumsfeld hasn't done any press conferences since the time he let it slip about the airplane being shot down. Hmm. And he was in Iraq not long ago but they didn't really show it did they? And when Cheney and ALL of them are quiet it makes me nervous. Where has he been promoting Bush's SS and Iran plans? Seems like Bush is alone now days. Is everybody jumping ship? Are they going to get rid of him or something?

9. eery Cheney quote - "I've got my plans laid out,"
Edited on Mon Feb-28-05 04:38 PM by Stephanie

I'm sorry, it just sounds a little funereal to me...

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/02/28/opinion/main676951.shtml

Vice President Dick Cheney is adamant about not running for president in 2008. Asked by host Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday if he might change his mind, Cheney answered with a firm no. "I've got my plans laid out," he said. "I'm going to serve this president for the next four years, and then I'm out of here... In 2009, I'll be 68 years old. And I've still got a lot of rivers I'd like to fish and time I'd like to spend with my grandkids, and so this is my last tour. I don't plan to run for anything."

11. What kind of drugs is this guy doing?
Or is Fred Barnes just delusional?

Quote: "But there's a larger reason Cheney should seek to succeed Bush. In all likelihood, the 2008 election, like last year's contest, will focus on foreign policy. The war on terror, national security, and the struggle for democracy will probably dominate American politics for a decade or more. "

and

"It's possible his presidency and his signature issues may have soured by then. But I doubt it. So imagine Bush as a successful president looking to the future after he leaves office and wondering whether his accomplishments will be protected and expanded or reversed. It would be out of character for Bush to leave the selection of his successor to chance or to the whims of presidential primaries. If he says he'd like Cheney to run, my guess is Cheney would be hard-pressed to say no. "

This is so wrong, where do I start.

Its clear that there's no Iraq exit strategy because there is no intent to ever leave. This wasn't clear during the 2004 election, but it will be very clear in 2008. And by then, we'll be involved with Iran/Syria too (especially if Cheney had his way).

Next issue, Barnes hasn't been noticing that the economy is about to sour big time, largely from the massive tax cut induced deficit about which Cheney said "Reagan proved deficits don't matter".

Thirdly, I can't be the only one that sees Cheney on TV and get those wierd heebee jeebee chills that give me the feeling he is PURE EVIL. This is especially true when he says things like "this is a war that will not end in our lifetime". Cheney, who has never fought in a war due to his 5 Vietnam deferrals, wants perpetual war.

Fourth....has anyone forgotten how he engineered lack of congressional oversight by making the GAO sue him for documents on his energy policy...and then the court case got 'randomly' assigned to a Bush appointee, who threw it out (essentially ending congressional oversight, which has never been done in the entire 80+ year history of the GAO). I know they control the media....but doesn't this freak at least some people out?

Fifth...Halliburton no bid contracts (9 Billion missing and counting).

Sixth...John Dean says that the type of pacemaker he has indicates that he is a seriously sick man.

Barnes thinks people will want Cheney...especially after the economy tanks and we're fighting a war with Iran/Syria. Ppphhhhhaaaalllease.
