What happens to campaign funds when a candidate drops out? |
|
My boss is convinced that if a candidate drops out of the race, they get to keep all of the money raised for their own use. I think he's full of it.
Anyone have specific references to what can be done with the money after the candidate drops out? Relevent sections of USC or FEC regs?

1. I dont have a reference, just the experience of receiving my contribution |

back in the mail. I contributed to Paul Tsongas in '92 (?) and they sent my money back to me after he dropped out.
