Bush Shows No Remorse for Fake Newscasts
by William Fisher

NEW YORK -- Despite a rising chorus of condemnation from journalists and media critics, the George W. Bush administration shows no signs of abandoning its distribution of taxpayer-funded ”news” to U.S. newspapers, radio and television stations.

.......Regarding the VNRs, Pres. Bush said the government's practice of sending ”packaged news stories” to local television stations was legal and he has no plans to cease it.

His defense of the packages, which are designed to look like television news segments, came after the Government Accountability Office (GAO), a Congressional watchdog agency, called them a form of covert propaganda.

The administration responded that, ”Executive Branch agencies are not bound by GAO's legal advice” but should be guided by the views of the Department of Justice's Office of Legal Counsel, part of the executive branch. .....

1. I don't think he's ever shown any kind of remorse.
I seriously think he's a sociopath.

6. In his press conference a couple of weeks ago, some reporter
asked him something like, "Don't you think it should be stated in the packaged news story that it is a packaged new story from the government". And the chimp replied something like, "That is up to the news station to clarify what they are airing". What a snake!

8. Why should he?
He has no remorse over the death of 100,000 + men, women, and children in an
unneeded war that has produced more terrorists.

He has no remorse over stealing two elections.

He has no remorse about killing the supportive capacity of the planet
to make money for his blood sucking friends.

He has no remorse about insider trading.

He has no remorse about killing mentally retarded persons.

He has no remorse about being Dick Cheney's tool.

He has no remorse about using the Prince of Peace to justify hate.

You think fake news would bother him.

fake compassion
fake concern

13. Legal, maybe (I seriously doub it). Ethical? No Way.
There is a big difference between the USDA printing a bulletin on nutrition or food safety and the Education Department flacking the NCLB Act. At least I can see the difference. I am not surprised that shrubby can't.

15. This is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!
It's frightening that this sort of thing is continuing. This goes against every core American value of fairness, freedom, and democracy.
