Kerry takes it to Bush
Of all the namby-pamby stuff that's been posted today on the CNN interview, I was surprised to find that Kerry was actually very harsh on Bush. Whatever you think of Kerry, I don't think we're going to be able to beat Bush back down unless every voice is heard when they're taking Bush on.

"KERRY: Well, of course they're going to argue that. And that's clever politics, but it's not the truth. The truth is that Moammar Gadhafi has been looking for a deal for four years. He began negotiations with Bill Clinton, unfortunately toward the very end of the administration.

This administration, had it truly wanted to pursue proliferation and create a cooperative effort on proliferation issues, would have been engaged in bilateral negotiations with North Korea over two years ago, and we would be in a less dangerous world than we are today with North Korea.

And the deal with Gadhafi, mostly, might I add, pursued and brokered by Tony Blair and the British, could have been achieved some time ago. It's now happening partly to make it look like it's causal with respect to the war on terror. I disagree..."

"They owe the American people an apology for telling them lies. They owe the American an apology for not building a real coalition. They owe the American people an apology for putting our young men and women at greater risk than they need to be. They owe an apology for our breaking alliances and relationships around the world. They owe the American people an apology for spending $87 billion of our tax money, that we didn't need to spend if we'd done the hard work of diplomacy."

1. he always is
remember when he went after bush for tora bora (sp?) in afghanistan and how they perhaps purposely didn't try hard enough ? but i remember there were some democrats who criticized kerry for that. but seems kerry was right.

sandnsea, and if you missed his appearance on fox news sunday last week taking questions from chris wallace, you should ge tthe transcript of that too. it was just as good as this.

4. Can't find it
I've looked for it and can't find it.

Yes, I remember Kerry went after Bushon Tora Bora. And Dean criticized him for it. Shouldn't criticze the President in a time of war. :eyes:

2. Kerry is right
but I won't hold my breathe waiting for an apology from the bush* administration. And by the end of this war to free the Iraqi's I'm sure the price tag in lives and money will be too much to count.

3. More than any other candidate
I've seen on DU, Kerry is constantly berated, misrepresented, and undervalued. It's demented.

5. I'm afraid I disagree
Dean holds that title - no thanks in part to Kerry's hard work misrepresenting Dean's record and statements on almost a daily basis.
Yes, it's politics, but Kerry certainly isn't winning over many (if any) of Dean's hundreds of thousands of supporters with this tactic, and his poll numbers have proven it.

John Kerry has a stellar record as a senator, and is quite effective when he takes on Bush, but whatever it is in him that makes him want to be President just isn't resonating with the party.
