Fellow Dems: Clark is NOT a Republican
Regardless of your candidate preference, I hope you appreciate the hits Wes Clark has, is and will continue to take for the Democratic team. If, after tonight's debate, you don't think he despises Bush and wants to defeat him as much as any of our candidates, well, I respectfully disagree.

I don't ask you to support Clark, and I fully respect everyone's choice. But Clark is one of us, folks. He will not back down on this Bush/AWOL story (because it's true) and he will not back down on his claims that Bush didn't do everything he could to protect us before 9/11. He's willing to stick his neck out for THIS party.

Ultimately, it thrills me when candidates tell the truth, even if it is impolitic. Clark's an honest man with liberal beliefs. I believe he deserves to be welcomed into the fold by all of us.

9. As Mike Malloy pointed out...
the other night, his association with the School of the Americas needs to be addressed. This institution trains assassins and I would hope the good General would address this. However...I will continue to support him!

11. Thanks. Let's leave this meme to brit Hume, Safire and Will
Here's a great post I saved:libcolodem's scorecard:

Yesterday's article where George Will declares who is and who is not a "real Democrat."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A33803-2004Jan21.html
Made me want to compile this scorecard (an edited repost):
People who believe Wesley Clark is a real Democrat:
Michael Moore, George McGovern, Charlie Rangel, Dave Dinkins, Dale Bumpers, etc.
People who insist he isn't:
George Will, William Safire
People who know Wes Clark has been consistent in his stand on the war:
Michael Moore, George McGovern, Charles Rangel, etc.
People who insist he hasn't been consistent:
George Will, Matt Drudge, Ed Gillespie (RNC Chair), William Safire
People who know Wes Clark can defeat George Bush:
Michael Moore, George McGovern, George Will, Matt Drudge, Ed Gillespie, William Safire
Who is the GOP afraid of?  Just look at who they are trying to derail.

28. Add Hannity to the naysayers list
I think it's sour grapes because Clark has torn Vannity a new one everytime he's been on his show, "Asshat and Doormat".

12. Agreed -- if only more people would defend Lieberman on this point too
Far too many DU'ers believe that unless you are reflexively left-wing on everything, you must be a Republican. That kind of attitude will swiftly lead to perpetual Republican domination of our government. The Democratic Party used to be a big tent party. Let's hope it will be once again.

22. Agreed
Lieberman is a center right Democrat, but a center right Democrat is considerably left of 90% of Republicans. He voted against the prescription drug bill fraud for one thing. And he's light years better on the environment than Bush's team. I think Lieberman is seriously wrong about Iraq. For one thing I don't think he adequately appreciates all of the seeds of hatred that have been sown against America as a result. We are not safer. Having said that, I believe Lieberman would have been far wiser in his dealings with our allies and the United Nations than Bush, and the resultant damage would be smaller today.

Please let me stop now. Writing this, for me, is kind of like performing an unnatural act, except less fun lol.

He wouldn't take the bait and distance from Moore because he knows there is proof of AWOL being AWOL.

Even if he doesn't get the nomination this time around, I have a feeling a star has been born.

He has my support, and my vote.

21. I'm a Dean supporter, but I know Clark isn't a Repuke.
Far from it, in fact. Clark was just being, believe it or not, political (which some say he's inexperienced with- hardly), when he complimented those neo-con asswipes. Clark is my #2, next to Dean, and he has the best chance to beat Bush, next to Dean. The guy is a powerhouse when he isn't getting torpedoed BY Republiclowns.

23. After tonight's attacks on the man, my faith in him was restored
I will never again, question him. I am sorry now that I ever doubted him. So score one for the mainstream media, they just restored all of my ability to vote for any of the candidates.
