It is what we have to fight. This is the Wal Mart Nation. This show consistently has the most ill-informed, hate-filled morons I have ever seen. But you know what? It is consistent with a lot of what is on the street. These bozos don't live politics as do the professional pundits on the talking head shows. They just get their sound bites from the evening news and maybe a cable news station, most likely Fox or CNN.

Seriously, if you are puzzled about why people like George Bush, watch this show. It is frightening. Honestly, it is downright scary.

If you can't sum up your position succinctly and solidly, a lot of people won't support you. Pat answers, spoken quickly. That is what people want.

but the style and delivery. Well not Colin's mealy-mouthed attempts at wit, but the quick, self-consistent, non-nuanced response.

example:
Child molesters - kill them. vs. Child molesters - we need to psychologically evaluate them.... zzzzz

Now the latter answer is the correct approach but all your average person hears is some creep who has hurt a child isn't going to get the big hurt put on him.
