9. I imagine you didn't intend it but
talking about suing directly above the picture of Edwards sort of made me wonder if that was a question, or a solicitation.

And what is that picture about? Looks like one of Dubya's halo shots.

22. Imagine him as the lawyer, and you, the client comes in saying,
'my rights have been violated! I wanna sue them for violation of my, of my, of my, for breach of conjugavivialtiy and then I'm gonna slap a retainerment on him!!!"

And the lawyer has to explain, calmly, "sir, I'm sorry. That doll's funny."

34. For some time I've been wondering about that picture.
On one level it looks like Edwards is praying to overcome his poll numbers. On another level is seems like religious pandering. Maybe it's neither of the above. I'm just giving my impressions. And I do like John Edwards.

29. Well... maybe not..
But if I was a public figure, or even a private citizen, I'd drag someone's ass in court if they publicly portrayed me wearing the Confederate flag. While some folks may say it's part of their heritage. It is a divisive, racially charged symbol, and has no place on Howard Dean. I think the doll is amusing.. I'm glad we have a candidate with cajones. But the flag is the issue I have with it. In the eyes of many people, that flag on the doll would be the equivalent of putting a Kerry doll in a KKK outfit. Totally offensive, and wrong.

11. Am I the Only One Here Who Sees What's Going On?
Whether the publicity is negative or positive, what's happening is that Howard Dean, the previously unknown Governor of one of the teeniest states in the Union, is becoming a subcultural icon. While the mainstream media is hyping him, only to tear him down, underneath that the creative folks are paying tribute - they are being inspired by the guy. What remains to be seen in the equation is how the non-artists react to the tributes.

14. Are you kidding? This is GREAT!
My prankster brother-in-law sent us that friggin' George Bush action figure for Christmas.

I gonna buy one of these Dean action figures. Then I'm buying a fifth of scotch. After I drink the scotch, I'm going to make my Dean action figure beat the living shizzle out of my Bush action figure.

19. I like the idea of Mean Dean beating
up on Flight suit Bush - great visual and creative use of doll playing - my knee jerk reaction was that I was offended by Bush portrayed in a flight suit and Dean wearing a Confederate Flag.
The Confederate Flag is a divisive issue ( I happen to adhere to the belief that it is a symbol of States Rights and part of our history).
But to many, it is something else ... Three cheers for Confederate Flag Dean ripping the flight suit off W. If Dean makes W his bitch - so much the better.

36. You just gave me an idea for my roll play
I posted above ("Great Idea! I love it!) that I was gonna get one to beat up the Bush doll my friggin' brother-in-law bought us for Christmas... then you said the Dean doll could rip the flight suit off the Bush doll.

So I've already got a plea for a Dean Scream t-shirt for my Dean doll, but seein' as he's gonna be strippin Bush the Lesser's clothes off, and I don't wanna be seein' no nakid Chimpy...

Anyone got a little pink tu-tu... 'bout Barbie-sized? I'll be accepting donations, and taking suggestions!

25. Hey, I Love it, Too!
So what if it's supposed to be a slur? It shows Dean as a fighter.

Jesse Ventura got elected by selling action figures. When he was grilled by a reporter about using this to make money for his campaign, he said: "If you give me a large contribution, I'm indebted to you. I owe you. If I sell you something, it's an even trade -- I don't owe you anything. And by the way, you're accusing me of injecting money into politics?"

Maybe the Dean campaign should make its own version (but with an American flag).
