And I don't pretend to know enough about British politics to discern Paxman's biases and failings as a journalist, but I've got to say the dynamic is superior to the one we have here between journalists and political leaders.

You can watch all three interviews here:

1. I think he just dislikes all politicians

I was born and raised in England and was there until a year ago. I also miss Paxman, and wish that there was someone like him over here too. From watching him over time, he doesn't seem to show any bias, but he does seem to display a dislike for any 'spin', sort of like the way Bill O'Reilly pretends to be. In 2003 he asked Tony Blair whether he prayed together with Bush* . He is at his best when someone is trying to avoid a question or not give an answer.

Sadly I think he appears to be too intelligent and asks too good questions to appear on any real news show over here. It would be a dream to see him interview Bush though.

There's an article today with the Conservatives (Right Wing Party) complaining about his treatment of them today though, http://www.opinion.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/11/26/npaxo26.xml

2. I saw the Pacman when he tore into Blair before the Iraq War.That
interview is a keeper.I am sure you will never see that kind of intelligent, no holds barred, questioning over here.

3. When Bush was subjected to (moderately) intense questioning in Ireland
The story became how harsh the reporter was(!) and not how lame and revealingly inept his responses became under steady questioning.
