Terri????
Is this going to be another "Valerie Plame" situation? Gone and forgotten??

Terri Schiavo's autopsy was performed weeks ago and there has been ample time to assimilate and articulate the results: had she been "brutalized" at some point, as the rightwingnuts claimed?? was her brain stem so degenerated that she had no thoughts and feelings, as her doctors opined?? And the many other secondary issues that a thorough autopsy would reveal.

It's time for the facts. The family and the rightwingnuts decided to make a very public, federal case out of her pathetic end-of-life tragedy. Now let's have some public answers!!

1. I recall that they said it would take 6 weeks for a report.
When the story came out that an autopsy would be done before the cremation, the article said that the medical examiners office claimed it would take six weeks for a final report after the autopsy was completed. I don't think it's been that long yet.

4. Terri
Well, that sure sounds long but I hope you're correct. We deserve some answers after what those creeps put the country through (creeps being the Delay gang who latched onto the story for diversion and personal gain).

6. That is what I heard also.

But this report is not going to show any problem, so the wingnuts are just getting themselves all lathered up for nothing. But, that's what they like doing anyway.

3. The political damage has been done
The conservatives took a beating for supporting this wingnut cause, and it has surfaced in recent polls. The work is done. Now let the poor woman rest.

9. I don't think that was the complete autopsy..
that recently came out. My recollection is that what came out was a report by the Florida agency to which complaints were made (can't remember its name) saying there was no evidence of ill treatment.

The full autopsy, with microscopic analyses etc. hasn't come out yet, I believe. I've been looking for it, but haven't seen it.

10. hmmmmmmm you could be right ....
my apologies, must have caught that report on the newscasts. So what's taking them so long? It became a media circus by the Repubs, and though it never was any of our business, it became a defense of our civil rights. So they need to release it so the public can have final closure on this too. More time I can throw TRUTH into the Repubs face the better. Peace.

11. Just in case...
Here's a Living Will that I can live (and die) with....

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I, __________________________, being of sound mind and body, do not wish to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means. Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands of peckerhead politicians who couldn't pass ninth-grade biology if their lives depended on it. If a reasonable amount of time passes and I fail to sit up and ask for a piece of chocolate, it should be presumed that I won't do so ever again. When such a determination is reached, I hereby instruct my spouse, children and attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the tubes and call it a day.

Under no circumstances shall the members of the Legislature enact a special law to keep me on life-support machinery. It is my wish that these boneheads mind their own damn business, and pay attention instead to the health, education and future of the millions of Americans who aren't in a permanent coma and who nonetheless may be in need of nourishment.

Under no circumstances shall any politicians butt into this case. I don't care how many fundamentalist votes they're trying to scrounge for their run for the Presidency in 2008, it is my wish that they play politics with someone else's life and leave me alone to die in peace. I couldn't care less if a hundred religious zealots send emails to legislators in which they pretend to care about me. I don't know these people, and I certainly haven't authorized them to preach and/or crusade on my behalf. They should mind their own damn business, too.

If any of my family goes against my wishes and turns my case into a political cause, I hereby promise to come back from the grave and make his or her existence a living hell.

The autopsy report won't be final/released for approx. 6 weeks post-mortem. Just an FYI: This is being passed around in the medical community, primarily by physicians. Let's just hope the zealot Republicans in power keep pandering to the Rapturist Right...it will make 06/08 elections that much easier for the Democrats.
