2. Great poll...
And that's a significant change from MSNBC's poll saying that 67% of people thought Dean was a joke.

3. No matter what you think of Dean...
You got to admit that the fact this poll is even on their home page four days later is a sign that this has lasted too long.

6. This is good for Dean. Talk about anything but the issues.
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 03:56 PM by AP
Dean is the only candidate for whom it's beneficial for him if people feel sorry for him, and that's because 'personalizing' peoples perceptions of him makes you not think about all his problems with bad policy and bad strategy thus far.

It's like with Clinton and the Superbowl interview -- accusations of infidelity got you into his life. Once you got into his life, you liked the guy. I don't know if Dean's as likeable as Bush, but it's a nice distraction from his more dramatic weaknesses.

8. Maybe I am entirely wrong in thinking that for the first time we have
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 03:57 PM by MrsGrumpy
a great field of candidates...all(or most)of them focused on the issues, all of them able to articulate what it is that makes them get motivated. I can't really agree with your assertation.
