The media used to have a liberal bias, but after the 1964 election the conservatives began a concerted effort to take control. By the time of Regan The media was and continues to be controlled by the right wingers.

that they think can take his place that could get better ratings. At that point, if Bush's numbers deteriorate too much, I think they would drop him like a hot potato - he could easily come up with some health problems.
