Lou Dobbs promised to give the results from the poll after they returned from a commercial and the results never appeared.
My letter to Dobbs:
"Dear Mr Dobbs,
I watch your show routinely and have respected your habit of honest reporting, your willingness to challenge people, politicians and corporations.
I was somewhat dismayed last evening, though. You assured the viewers the result of the daily poll when you returned from the commercial and the result was never shown.
The poll question was, to paraphrase, "Has the media been unfair to Howard Dean in its presentation of his post-Iowa concession speech?" I was watching this closely. As you asked the question, the poll results were 60%, YES, the media HAS been unfair, 40%, no, it hasn't been unfair. There were somewhere between 70 and 80,000 replies at that time.
From my capitalizations, you may surmise I am a Dean supporter. I am. And I, too, am passionate about insuring the safety and betterment of the future of my country.
It is incredibly distressing to see you, a respected journalist, skip over the results of a poll you promised to display. Perhaps I missed it, I don't see how. My eyes were glued to the T.V. Perhaps it was a CNN error to cut directly to 360. But it reflects poorly on CNN if that's the case, it intimates dishonesty and bias. If you wouldn't mind clarifying this, I would much appreciate hearing your thoughts."
