Anybody have Recent Fundraising Numbers for Clark?
There's talk that he's doing quite well.

1. I've seen nothing
since back in mid-November when a campaign spokesperson told a reporter that they expect to bring in from $10-$12m this quarter.

2. $10-12 million
That's what I've heard. Of course, those numbers won't be official until the middle of January.

3. Mostly big money donors according to LA Times trumpeted elsewhere
By Clark supporters.

Looks like as with Kerry, it's big money people vs. the true grassroots from Dean.

4. Welcome to McCain-Feingold
You know there is a $2,000 Dollar individual campaign donation limit.
So 2,000 is 'big money'?

5. Compared to $70, yes...
How many middle class political supporters really can afford to give $2,000 to a candidate? Most of us can give $50-100 though.

7. Oh, I am sure it was less than $70 last time they reported
Funny, when we started our birtday cake fundraiser, you populist characters were making fun of our little donations. Some on your blog, some on ours. You were whooping it up that you were rich and we were poor. Now that we raised 3 cakes, the trolls want receips for every donation and threaten FEC investigations...I am talking of this blog fundraiser:

8. I'm just talking FEC filings...Clark has a larger percentage of big
Donations than Dean by a long shot. That does affect my view.

10. According to the last reports
Clark had a significantly higher percentage of small donations than any of the leading Democratic PArty Candiates other than Dean, who had a significant lead over Clark in that regard. This is a talking point FOR Dean, but hardly a bashing point AGAINST Clark.

13. The LA Times article Clark supporters were touting...
Says he is doing well on the heels of large donations...is this inaccurate? A bad article?

16. Well he's getting money on-line and...

from house parties where the average donation was $100 or less. The current on-line fundraising challenge shows $121/donation average. Also $200 or less donations are not reported to the FEC so I'm not sure where the numbers are coming from on Open Secrets. I'm sure Dean wasn't complaining when he collected $1+ million in New York on $1000-2000 donations or here in Seattle collecting $1000/head at the WAC.

18. I think the $70 average is misleading. I've talked to many
people who gave Dean around $20-25 but who are no longer supporters. Those type of low dollar contributions can really bring the average down. Didn't Dean's energy buddies make up the majority of his earlier contributions?

17. Big money donors?
There could be a lot of average people who strongly believe in their candidate.

12. Clark campaign did confirm raising over One Mililon
At his December NYC fundraiser. I attended and NO I am not a big donar. The most I have given at one time is $75, otherwise less, and I have donated several times.

15. Clark is tapping into some nice Liberal money in CA
Less toxic than most "special interests". Stuff like the Madonna endorsement and fund raiser. Dean would take that money if he could get it also, and in fact he has gotten some. No other Democratic candidates seems able to get those folks to take out their check books for them.
