Unfortunately I have no respect for the south because of Satan's little helpers like Lott, Delay, Helms, J Bush, Junior... but listening to Edwards I started to believe in a candidate for the first time. As he spoke without a teleprompter or notes; all from the mind and heart and he was sharp!!!!

Then Kerry just blew me away today, cspan live at a school, when he did about the same thing as Edwards did, with even some humor.

I'd like to see Junior survive 30 seconds of what they did for about 1 hour plus+, each.

I've stayed out of the south for 18 years because of scum like the above repuke mentioned. If they really got people like Ewards down there, I guess they can stay in the Union and when they put the above mentioned scum in prison, we can become friends!

Let's remind you that from the late 30's to the 50's the Northern Moderate Republicans and the Conservative Southern Democrats, ran this country, could pass any legislation they wanted to pass and stop any legislation in it track if they so desired.

Clean up your own house before condemning every one in the South...It seems to me like you might be in the minority since the last few president with Dem before their names were southerners, and I might add a mighty darn good one held the office for eight years...Wish Clinton was back.

23. PS. I donated to Dean 12 months ago because he was the only one who

None of you should ever forget that and Dean should go down in history for such a courageous stand in the face of Satan and he had no fear. In conclusion, I don't think Dean can make it but he sure deserves a cabinet post.

Take a look to the left to see the face of the man who has repeatedly said the 2000 elections was stolen, who has outright stated that George W. Bush lied to the American people, who put his career where his mouth is and filed not one but TWO lawsuits against the current pResident, and who organized the House resistance to the IWR and cast his own vote against it.

No offense meant, and I don't mean to insult Governor Dean. He's done some great things, for the Party and for the Iraq War opposition, and I admire him for those things. I just thought your comparison to Wellstone while dismissing someone who greatly admired and more closely resembles such an upstanding Statesman should be corrected since it was pretty factually inaccurate.

14. Whoever wins, I hope every candidate would be considered for

key positions in the next Democratic administration. The next 4 years are going to be a supreme challenge for any President to repair this sinking ship of state. It will take a whole bunch of competent leaders to fix this mess.

That said, Kerry-Clark would be ideal. But I could see Clark as SecDef, priority should be focused on Pentagon reform....bigtime. In that case, Edwards would be ideal politically.....and we'd have a 16 year lock on the top spot.

Dean - HHS or DNC

Kucinich - Speaker of the House I'd love to see him developing strong Democratic legislation and getting it passed.

Lieberman - Senate Chaplin :-)

22. Kerry/Edwards makes the most sense to me

The least logical is a Kerry/Dean ticket. They're too similar, and the tandem does not spread the umbrella enough. The most important thing for Kerry is to win the Southern states, and that means Edwards or Clark. The General has impeccable credentials in the military, but so does Kerry. And with endorsements by Michael Moore and George McGovern, it may make it easier for the RNC to label a Kerry/Clark ticket as a loony liberal duo. If you stick Edwards in there, you have a candidate that no Dean, Clark, or Kucinich supporter has qualms supporting him because he's mostly positive and did not participate in the snipefests. And however liberal Edwards may be, he exudes that broad appeal to both liberals and centrists for some reason. Plus, Kerry's "Old Man" image is nicely counter-balanced by the "young" Edwards (only in politics is a 50 year old man considered a junior).

John Edwards could bring strength, depth and 'charisma' to a Kerry ticket. That said, I wouldn't assume that anyone has the nomination locked up, nor would I assume that anyone, especially Dr. Dean, is 'out of the running'--- he has too much money, and he has stopped his 'slide' in NH. :)

I'm wavering between Dean and Kerry but voted in this poll any way. I'm not so certain Dean won't win.

John Edwards certainly brings the geographic balance to the ticket. More importantly, he has extremely impressive credentials fighting "special interests." Dick Cheney can easily be painted as the epitome of "special interest" politics. In the VP debate it would show a clear contrast between the two parties thus enhancing the prospect for long coat tails...

The way we can clean up in the GE is to leverage some of the other great candidates we have seen. Some Cabinet appointments should be made at the convention and used on the campaign trail. My preferences:

Secy of State: Clark
Secy of Defense: Cleland
Secy of HHS: Dean
Secy of Labor: Gephardt
Atty Gen: Spitzer
Special roles for: Hart, Graham, Joe Wilson

I'm looking not only to who can help regionally on the ticket, but who can kick Cheney's ass in the VP debate.

Can you imagine that hunched-up old bastard with his bad heart pallor standing next to John Edwards? The visual would be good, but I'm not sure how Edwards would do in substance when Cheney starts chanting "terror terror terror".

Clark would be awesome in substance, since he understands the nature of the beast and I think he'd gut Cheney like a fish in a debate. Cheney would completely lose on the national security issues. For that reason alone, I'm tending to favor Clark for VP.
