Poll question: POLL: If Watergate happened in 2004 instead of '72, with the current MSM
Would a "Deep Throat" get any MSM attention?

I mean, enough to bring down pResident Bush (or Nixon in 2004, if the same Election had happened in the 2004)????

1. If the Whore media had existed in 1972, both Nixon & Agnew would have.....
....served full 8 year terms. And if Diebold had existed then, Reagan would have been elected in 1976. And I never would have known any liberal Presidents in my lifetime :(

3. We are at War - how can we investigate the President?

Of course, we were at war in 1972 as well...

11.  Or Friday, October 31, 2008 and they would blame the Democrats
for not uncovering this more than a week before the election.

9. Watergate itself wouldn't get any attention in 2004
The break-in would never even have made news in MSM; it would might have been a hotly discussed topic on the blogs.... and the lockstep, abuse-of-power-Republicans would have used that to laugh off the whole incident as a tin-foil-hat conspiracy....Keith Olberman might have spent a week or two on it.... Jon Stewart would have pariodied it... Randi Rhodes would have shouted about it... Al Franken would have done an OY, OY, OY segment on it.... Mike Malloy would have gone ballistic about it.... FAUX would have blamed it on Clinton.... Scottie Mc. would have called the whole thing "absurd" -- there might be a few buried editorials in Midwestern papers... end of story.

10. If they don't cover stories about going into war under false pretenses
I really doubt if they would cover this one.

15. Hell, Nixon had nothing on the present assholes now
holding America Hostage.

Nixon would be so popular if he was President now...cause at least he could talk, think, walk and ride a bike.

16. I was a young woman during Watergate and watched it all
unfold.

The hearings on TV were fascinating, for we had never seen anything like it.

Those days seem so far away now... so long ago.

If the truth be told, the media covered up a lot back then in deference to Presidents and celebrities, but Watergate changed all that.

We had a very aggressive media for many, many years after Watergate.

Now... they are all pretty much worthless, especially the TV News. :(

We do have some independent newspapers left in America, however, so there is still hope.
