Has local TV news turned the public against the war?
I heard this assertion made the other day on CNN.

The idea is that the public mood on Iraq has changed dramataically this year because of the coverage given by local TV and newspapers of the deaths of hometown soldiers and the grieving families.

It's one thing to support a war that is far away being fought by people in other places. It's harder to support when you see someone from your town on TV crying over the loss of their son/husband/father.

That would also explain why Bush never attends any funerals.

2. I bet CNN said that on Memorial Day, and utterly missed the irony
If CNN were a newspaper, I wouldn't even want to wrap my fish with it.

3. Not our local news
I swear, I can't STAND watching our local NBC affiliate.

90% of the stories are human interest stories...which I DETEST.

They rarely have any real news, and their human interest stories seem to ALWAYS involve someone talking about God and miracles. :puke:

5. Our local news
is the local police blotter with a few "stoopid human" stories thrown in.

4. Local news in my area
doesn't mention Iraq, but does cover tearful reunions at the airport and homecoming welcomes at reggional bases. Totally non-political, warm and fuzzy.
