Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 08:27 PM by Laura PackYourBags
He's on Larry King now.

On edit: Although Larry didn't specify he just asked him about "Bush" -- other watchers say he was probably talking about the father GHB. Which is not as strange, but still strange,IMHO

19. He's also a CONSERVATIVE.
Too bad Poppy was so bitter and vengeful and guided the GOP to attack him instead of working with him. Clinton would have given him everything they ever wanted.

Look how fast he gave them NAFTA and GATT.

I can never understand why either.

Of course I didn't pay attention to politics when he was in office, and also my first introduction into his tenure as president was when I read Zinn's take on him in People's History of the U.S...which was pretty harsh towards Clinton, and his administration.

Clinton isn't doing our party or our country any favors by giving the impression that either one of them are 'good' people.

Oh Mighty Clinton (Big Dog) give me help that such a statement would come from your mouth to defend those who trashed you for EIGHT LONG YEARS and CAUSE US DEMOCRATS TO FALL BECAUSE OF YOUR ALLOWING THIS?

I loved you Bill .....and you keep "doin' me wrong" no matter how much faith I had in you or told my relatives and friends to have in you.

37. No this is reality
Bullshit on your post. Especially since "foul-mouthedness" is your big concern. Clinton has DONE SHIT for us in the last four years. In fact HE APPEARS to be a great cheerleader for the other side. I wasn't discussing Reid or anybody else-the thread was about Bill Clinton and his sad and predictible (I guess because all politics is a euphemism for bullshit in the end isn't it-that's why they say "it's all politics") shift all the way to the gray side. Not even dark side-because he keeps his toes on our side. He never could commit. Couldn't protest the war. Couldn't inhale. Couldn't go to battle then either. Sorry but I've fucking had it with dynasties-with Clinton too. He has made himself irrelevant. And has anybody noticed that Larry King and of course, CNN are the prime mouthpieces for our little fascist leaders these days?

Oh and Bush Sr. has not counted the other Bush son out.

41. Really? You think he really believes and knows the Bush's true evil?
I think people tell themselves all kinds of lies they have to believe to be able to sleep at night. I know I don't sleep too well thinking my government allowed 9/11 to happen for ideology and profit. Not believing that would be so much easier. People lie to themselves just to live. I would hope his investment in the Bush clan-if he's so smart and a Hindu "warrior" as some say-would be to really see their true evil. But where Bill Clinton has put his energy in these last years has not been where it as done this country a shred of good. I haven't seen one thing he has done. Not one in our time OF MOST NEED.(and it hurts like hell) Show me something good he has done for America to fight the Bush cabal since he was selected. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I don't think he believes they are the evil we do-or he simply could not spend the time and energy with them and defending them that he does.

And his wife doesn't have a snowballs chance either. But whatever..it's important to lie to yourself..it makes life easier.

45. If the Government allowed or made 9/11 happen
Then Clinton Knows about it along with many democrats currently in power including John Kerry, who we all voted for.

But we do not have all the facts and circumstances that keep our leaders from coming out publicly. So they're doing what they think they can, with skills and resources they got. Right or wrong Clinton I believe wants to take over the UN because he thinks he could create global stability throughout the world so something like 9/11 never happens again.

His dream I believe has always been for world peace.

That's my opinion. I don't like the pandering BS games he plays with wacko Conservatives, but he always seems to come out ahead in the end.

44. Clinton bashing is always so productive (sarcasm)
Bill Clinton has helped a hell of a lot of people in this world, a hell of a lot more than anyone of us could ever imagine. I get the impression some on DU will ONLY be happy once we have Dennis Kucinich as President. Well, I've got news for you; Dream On!!!!
Those that continuously bash Clinton for not taking up the liberal banner 24/7 need to step back and realize for a minute that we should be thankful that we didn't have Bush Sr from 88-96, followed by Bush Jr.
I am extremely grateful and take my hat off to any democrat who can beat a republican, especially for President. Keep in mind that the repubs have ingrained advantages in EVERY election; they have more money raised (corporate interests and lobby groups), they can tell the electorate everything they want to hear (tax cuts for everyone, while we'll still take care of all of your entitlements, rail against big govt bureacrats, wrap themselves in the flag, and of course call democrats baby killers and gays), and NOW they even have the computers rigged.

46. From today's WaPo....."veiled criticism of Bush is unmistakable"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/05/31/AR2005053101825_2.html

Bill Clinton Takes Spot On Global Stage
By John F. Harris
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, June 1, 2005; Page A01

SNIP

Beneath the surface, there is a deep vein of politics in Clinton's international activities as ex-president. While he has mostly supported Bush on the Iraq war -- and says that all Democrats should be supporting full victory even if they first opposed the war -- almost every speech he has given in recent months has contained the same refrain, delivered in nearly identical language.

"We can't relate to the rest of the world only through a negative prism, and only through telling them to do things," he told the Chamber of Commerce in Lancaster, Pa. "Why? Because if you live in a world where you can't kill, jail or occupy all your enemies, security will never be enough. You've got to make a world where you've got more friends and fewer enemies, where you make partners."

The veiled criticism of Bush is unmistakable. Clinton, associates say, thinks Bush has weakened U.S. standing in the world by being too dismissive of allies and projecting an image of American arrogance abroad. Bush says he welcomes allies but will not let dissenters abroad stop him from doing what he thinks is necessary to protect security.

For all the new rapport in the Bush-Clinton relationship -- Bush throwing regular rhetorical bouquets to his predecessor and assigning him to visit tsunami-stricken areas -- the two presidents represent twin poles in a pointed ideological debate. Since Sept. 11, 2001, has been at the center of national politics, this argument about the relative balance of force vs. persuasion in U.S. foreign policy has been at the middle of domestic politics.

54. In defense of Clinton...
If you really pay attention to W when he is talking, I think you will see that he is not evil...he is just plain stupid. He is told what to say, he says it and believes it. In "Bush on the Couch" it says that he is not capable of thinking under stress. Hence the blank look on his face when he heard about the 9/11 attack. You are giving him way too much credit if you think he is planning and coming up with these grand schemes. He is a pawn...a puppet. It doesn't mean that he shouldn't be prosecuted for his crimes...he's still responsible. But he is more pathetic, than evil, more to be pitied than hated.

Clinton is very intelligent and I'm sure he knows a lot more about what is going on than we do. Maybe the whole Bush family is a front...and he knows it.

I do believe that Clinton is a very good man who really cares about people and this country...so I choose to give him the benefit of the doubt.
