4. So start pushing and knowing who your candidates are for 2006...
Stop whining and roll up your shirt sleeves. You want Democracy and don't want it taken, then be prepared to fight for it. It only works with your involvement. I strongly urge you to work like hell for Paper Ballots and Voter Verified support systems. This is the most important safeguard and all other work and outrage is meaningless if our real votes are not part of the equation. Forget about trying to wake others up, educate yourself and fight. Like minds and strengths will be drawn to you and you to them. Our numbers grow daily and the battle is not going away. "Action" must be our banner, Change our foremost mandate.

7. exactly...
So amid all this angst and anger, what are we, the DUers doing? Talk is not enough. Take that personal inventory and ask yourself "what actions am I taking to fight and remedy this situation."
If the answer is... nothing, then you are simply part of the apathy and IMO have no place to whine and complain. Once you take action, you are empowered. Win or lose, it is this step of taking action that defines you and your worth in this fight. What are you doing to let your actions be seen and heard and dealt with? It is this act of contribution which is most noble and for that you deserve this Democracy. I stand with all of you seeking and demanding change, but my true brothers and sisters are the risk takers and fighters.

11. well you'll have to excuse my cynicism....
....I've been here doin' my share of bitchin' and whinin' with everyone else for 3 years now...watchin' my DINO elected representatives bend me and other Democrats over and rape us raw to this MISadministration...all the while every election since 2000 has been tampered with in more ways than one...and only until EVERY person in this country feels the PAIN and SUFFERING of what's happening in this world then we can expect much more of the same here and everywhere....what's worked in the past to make changes on the HILL aren't workin' anymore...if they ever really have...history proves again and again that the WAR between who has and who doesn't will always be waged with little progress toward true equality and justice for all....but I'm still here..livin' and learnin' and keepin' some semblance of hope in my heart and mind that one day we can OVERCOME our animal natures and make the world a better place for each and every life form we share this big blue marble with.

8. How about boycotting Diebold
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 11:30 AM by melissinha
If there were enough people that wrote Bank of America and withdrew their accounts along with a stern letter denouncing Diebold's involvement in the elections..... I'm ready!

All these people undertand is the almighty dollar... we need a massive bloc of people who will punish those who sustain companies like Diebold!

I flipping Bank of the West were in Texas I'd do all my banking there....

12. Better: Don't move your account AND boycott Diebold.
Then, BofA will have to use actual people instead of machines to conduct business.

13. Great idea. What if everyone who used Diebold ATM machines to withdraw
their money went to the bank instead and waited on line for the teller. Less convenient, but if we are vocal about why we are doing it, the message might just get back to Diebold. We won't use any of your machines, the ones that spit out our cash or the ones that steal our votes.

9. You know how the GOP and their friends in the media repeat lies
so many times that people believe them? Well, we've got to do the same thing with the truth. REPEAT, RINSE, REPEAT. If we all DEMAND the truth about the Downing Street Minutes, and we DON'T LET UP for one second, people will actually start believe the truth for a change.

16. Hold the Republicans accountable...
My two Senators voted to remove Clinton from office. They need to explain why he should have been removed while Bush remains in office. I'm sure they say something to the effect that The House impeached Clinton and they merely voted on the evidence presented, or some such nonsense that will absolve them of their hypocrisy, but they still need to be held accountable.

17. We can't do it now
We have to get control of Congress first. Until we have control of Congress, any talk of impeachment is a waste of time.

18. Not a waste of time
We must repeat, repeat, repeat. We must demand it everywhere, always, to keep this evil cabal's lies and slaughter in the public eye. People don't even "hear" something amid the noise of our lives until they've heard it at least seven times. And that's not accepting or granting validity - just simple hearing.

20. Where did Bush lie?
This is the crap I get from Bushites.

1) Where did he lie?

2) Where does your precious statute ever say that stating "information that could be construed as misleading" is a crime?

" Except as otherwise provided in this section, whoever, in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of the Government of the United States, knowingly and willfully --

1. falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact;
2. makes any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation; or
3. makes or uses any false writing or document knowing the same to contain any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry; shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."

22. The republican controlled house
Will move for impeachment when monkeys fly out of my ass. Bush could Nuke NYCity, AND be caught sodomizing a goat while simultaneously strangling a cute Gerber baby and they would say it was all part of a brilliant plan we just dont have the information to understand but Bush does.
