Louisiana passes the first Depleted Uranium testing Bill

"House Bill 570

WHAT IT DOES: Requires testing of exposure for depleted uranium.

WHO GETS TESTED: Any member of the armed forces or veteran of the 1991 Persian Gulf war, the conflict in Afghanistan and the war in Iraq.

WHO DOES THE TESTING: U.S. military.

BILL'S POSTURE: If House approves a technical amendment and Gov. Kathleen Blanco signs the legislation, it becomes law."

HB570 would require testing for depleted uranium exposure for any Louisiana soldier or veteran, if they request one, of the 1991 Persian Gulf War, the conflict in Afghanistan and the war in Iraq

1. I think that testing for DU is good but it isn't the cause of Gulf War
Syndrome for the simple fact that the French troops who served in the First Gulf War never got Gulf War Syndrome. Its got to be something to do with preventative medicine that they used during the war. Because the Brits and Americans used the same innoculations, insect repellant etc. They are the only armed forces that have been suffering from Gulf War Syndrome.
