The reason is simple: a win on 2/3 in ANY significant contest--- AZ, SC, etc.--- propels Dean into the winner's circle, and he's still got a bank FULL of money. NH, like Iowa, is over-emphasized, IMO. The primaries are much more front-loaded than in 2000, and a loss doesn't neccessarily knock you out, and a win doesn't neccessarily crown you as king.

many anti-war Dems will not come out to vote in November.

While I am fully aware the DLC is brainwashing the base to think we have to come out if only to vote against Bush* (overlook the Iraq Resolution and just focus on defeating the Repubs), this will not fly with those of those who see the candidates in terms of the issues they supported.

Split the party if you must by running someone who will suppress the vote turnout, and when you lose in November, thank only yourself.
