Dems lack unity and screw up again.
Why can't we learn from our opponents? They stick together, no matter what. Case in point Delay.

I am one democrat who is mad as hell that JE and JB had to make public any disagreement with Dean. Why couldn't they keep it to themselves. Sure, disagree, be pissed, but DO IT IN PRIVATE !!! Any remarks do two things (1) fuel opposition, and (2) Sound self-serving, like -- just in case I run and someone "gets me" for agreeing with Dean. We will never win unless we support each other in all public venues. Do not fall into their traps to create a story. Laugh it off. Let it roll off. Say, "Oh that remark was taken out of context, Dean has tremendous enthusiasm. I support him 100%"

2. Although you are stating the obvious
I feel it can't be stated enough. We should scream it from the rooftops, in fact. This BS is beyond irritating. It is costing us elections.

9. yes. this doesn't diminish the fact that the media has been sold
lock, stock, and barrel. It just means that they are trying to create a story, just like they would if repugs said Delay was a crook.

5. Got an email from democrats.com so...
I replied "You guys have clout...right?...so tell Biden and Edwards to shut up! If they have a problem with Howard Dean (I think he's a breath of fresh air) they should tell Dean, not Tim Russert!" I think that we should let the DNC know that the next time one of our own spews crap about Dean they can kiss their fund-raising good-bye. Until we (the Democrats) get our collective asses together then I say NOT ONE DAMN DIME.

He's infatuated with the sound of his bloviations. Hang in there, Dr. Dean.

11. why don't the Dems have a unified message?
Not just on the Dean situation, but overall.

The Repubs got their act together in '94 with the 'Contract for America', and seem to have kept a unified message since.

Instead of saying, "We don't agree with them", why don't Dems produce a similar document?

It just seems that a simple "These are our values" kind of thing would do a lot to help the Dems. It doesn't have to be (and probably shouldn't be) very specific or detailed.

Am I wrong on this?

12. It's not appropriate to stick together no matter what. That's how you
have possibly decent Republicans supporting the murderer Bush.

against any strong moral conviction. Just the petty bullshit.

18. I think what you're really asking is
for us to get off your man Edwards's back.

This is a good thread, and Edwards needs to learn a little more about loyalty. I like Edwards, but sometimes I wonder if his biggest appeal is based on him being such a good man with words and his ability to speak effectively. The reality is that he's been pretty much invisible since the primaries.

22. I hear ya! I couldn't figure out why they didn't attack limpball's
comments about not needing a national holiday because dems don't work, or just say no comment. I was especially pissed that Edwards made his comments in Nashville, he was the keynote speaker at the Jackson Day Dinner. In my little area of red it's hard to try to bridge the gap between an ever-growing green faction, disgruntled Dem faction, and dems who are okay with whatever. In a very red area where libs/progressives are trying to work together, agree where they can, one thing most agreed on was Chairman Dean's speaking out and taking Bush** on. Didn't need this, not locally, not nationally.
