By the time I got to the TV, rudy ghouliani was on, and since the sight of him makes me :puke:, I turned it off.

3. Not on yet...
He's going to discuss it after Rudy. I think he said he's going to talk about it with that Newsweek guy, Fineman? Is that right? And one of the WH correspondents...may not be until near the end of the program. I'll be flipping back and forth 'cause I can't stand to sit through the whole thing.....

4. Fineman is with Newsweek, yes.
I can't stand to watch it either. If you get a sense that it's coming on after a commerical break, please post here and I'll tune in. :-)

9. I'm watching; I believe Nora O'Donnell is the 3rd person
who'll be discussing, along w/Tweety and Fineman. Not on yet, probably after the 1/2 hour.
BTW, welcome, slw! :hi:

11. Thank you....
Thanks for the welcome, and I believe he's discussing the entire press conference, including the DSM. It's up after this commercial break.

8. Fuck tweety -- "Do you buy the _act_?"
what a partisan and loaded question to give to Rudy about Sen. Clinton.

18. Fineman is clueless.
He also claimed that neither bush nor blair addressed the content of the minutes, which isn't true.

blair: No, the facts were not being fixed in any shape or form at all.

chimply: And somebody said, well, you know, we had made up our mind to go to use military force to deal with Saddam. There's nothing farther from the truth.

14. Not Bad...
Overall I don't think it was that bad....the most coverage I've seen to date on any sort of MSM show.

16. I disagree
Nora O'Donnell was the only one who zeroed in on the heart of the DSM. Tweety and Fineman steered the viewers away from the fact that intel was fixed around the policy to "is the world better off" - the ends justify the means.

That segment was crap, imo. Lip service, so when the shit hits the fan, Tweety can say he covered it "early on".

19. My opinion is that it was decent, and here's why.
I wrote this down while listening:
Bush, in the 'conference', used the excuse that the invasion of Iraq was justified because Iraqis were/are safer w/o Saddam. Tweety showed the footage and asked (all paraphrased obviously) are WE better off? Are the facts being manipulated? How ARE we getting out of Iraq, and was the intel fixed? Those are great questions.
O'Donnell and Fineman both agreed that the DSM question was never answered.
My gripe is, if he's asking those questions, Tweety et al, and these are heavy questions, why isn't he addressing them every day and often?

17. Called it a "report," which is good.
But they're amazingly nonchalant about Chimp & Blair seeking justification for the war after the fact. It seems less important to them than whatever Dean says or Hillary does -- "Rationalizing a war, ho-hum..."
