Pro-War Advocates Asking Everyone To Wear RED On Fridays!
Just got an email from a former high school friend. We lived in Ft. Hood, TX (Killeen) when we went to school. He's sending mail around to everyone telling them that support for the War is dwindling! HA! They must be getting worried.

Anyway.... DON'T WEAR RED ON FRIDAYS!!!!

15. red and black are the Iraqi flag colors. How about...
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 02:05 PM by Atman
You might want to be careful with that one.

How about black armbands? Or red ones, with a W on them...

17. you forgot the iraqui flag also has white
and seriously they call us commies, granted most americans DON'T know what that red and black flag means...

Now I like that armband, tasty... but dubya needs a nice black outfit to go with it.

4. Blue it is then.
Or would Green be better, since it's 1) more liberal and 2) the actual color opposite of red?

6. Why Red?
To symbolize all the blood that's been shed in the sands of Iraq for no good reason?

20. Red is a very fitting color for the pro-war vermin
So they can brag about the blood they have on their hands like the murderous tyrants they are.

7. Good grief, I got one about a month ago
only it was a Veteran's Group asking people to wear red because of the blood of our soldiers and the lives lost. Was afraid this would somehow be turned around to say something else.

11. Seems They're Using A Different Approach!
I thought it was because of "red states"! It's probably BLOOD though!

They're hell bent on this agenda!

DON'T WEAR RED!!! I always looked good in red too! Oh well!

9. In 1970 we had a National War Moratorium Day.
It was widely publicized by the underground press (yes, we actually had a very good one). I was in high school (in Alabama!) and my friends and I wore black armbands to school that day. We were all hauled into the principal's office and threatened unless we took off the "commie-supporting armbands". We wouldn't do it. After a couple of hours we did take them off, but we had made our mark. We should have something like that now - let everyone know just where everyone stands...

vs.

So, uh, what does it all mean? It does appear, via a google search, that this has been going back and forth since the start of the Iraq War.

Hmm. That being the case, it appears that this is all rather meaningless.

13. How grade-schoolish. Ask him what's the symbolism? Blood shed?
These Republicans, who need things like yellow ribbons and purple fingers...

They should show their support for the war by putting their signatures on army enlistment forms. Now THERE's a powerful symbol!

19. They stole this from the anti-war people. This is part of their approach
The a anti-war people decided to wear red a year ago but it did not catch on widely. Shortly after that, the pro-war people decided to pick up on it to confuse the issue.

These guys are experts on stealing symbols.
