Need Republican party race/class/religious breakdown...
Some damn freeper on anandtech.com's P&N forum is saying that Dean's statement about the GOP being a White, Christian party has no basis in truth.

I need a site with some evidence.

Please help! :argh:

1. I'd like to see that too.
I wonder where a non-Repbug can access this kind of 411?

3. Exit polls
CNN has exit polls that break down the make up of voters in 2004 http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/states/US/P/00/epolls.0.html

4. Are the Democrats a majority White Christian party?
I imagine that any large, broad-based organization in this country is probably majority white and majority Christian.

5. he said it's primarily a white christian party
If he said it was only a white christian party, Dean would be wrong.

6. Here are some links
for the election statistics

According to the Pew National Election Pool Exit Poll published December 6, 2004, Bush received 78% of the vote among white evangelicals, up 10% from 2000, according to Pew's final pre-election poll that year. (The 2004 exit poll cannot be directly compared with the exit poll in 2000, which did not include a measure of evangelical identification).

There are great charts at this site.

White Evangelicals voted 78% for Bush and 21% for Kerry

White people in other Christian religions tend to be more evenly divided with regard to who they vote for.

Black Protestants voted 13% for Bush and 86% for Kerry

Hispanic Catholic voted 39% for Bush and 58% for Kerry

Secular voted 31% for Bush and 67% for Kerry

Jewish voters voted 25% for Bush and 74% for Kerry

http://people-press.org/commentary/display.php3?AnalysisID=103

To overgeneralize -- According to the Pew poll, not all Bush backers are white evangelicals, but most white evangelicals are Bush supporters, and Hispanics are the only one of the larger minority groups that give nearly equal support to Bush as to Kerry.

Rural, Southern, Anti-Choice, Gun Owning, Born Again, Socially Conservative, Non-Union, $200,000+ Earning, 60+ Year Old, White, Males.

Guess that sums it up.

Gives me the creeps.
