Is it out of the question for Boxer to run for Pres?
She is my favorite Senator. If I were a Hollywood producer, I would cast her as the first female President - she looks the part, she acts the part. But - that's to me. Is she much too far left to win? Is it completely unrealistic to think she could ever win the General election?

BTW - she's on CSpan-2 now.

1. Unfortunately I think so. As long as the South has a strangle hold...
on national politics, the only hope we have is running a Dem who is of course white and male.

2. I think she's great
However, I'm not sure whether the majority of people feel the same way I do.
Some potential Prez candidates change themselves in an effort to appeal to more people. I hope she doesn't.

3. Yes, it unrealistic.

I don't think any woman would get elected because of the whole "weak on terror" crap being spewed by the right.

A decorated Vietnam Veteran was cast as a weak, flip-flopping, peace-loving liberal. How well would a female stand up to that?

5. Not for another 15 years...
There are too many older people that would never vote for a women or minority.

7. Not out of the question to run, winning is another matter
But I'd like to see women out there every time -- the only way a woman ever becomes president is if the woman running for president is not seen as a curiosity but a viable contender. Carol Mosely-Braun wasn't exactly top tier of potential women candidates last time around, but she often said things best in the debates. It'll happen, but probably not for Boxer.

8. We *Need* Barbara Boxer.
The question is where would Barbara Boxer's talents be best served.
I would love her to be president, but I don't think that she would be a winning candidate at this time. Given that, I think one could make a case that she can best serve her country by remaining in the US Senate and continue to speak truth to power.

9. Absolutely not - Remember how Right-wing BushCo is...
She is my favorite politician as well. She represents everything thing I believe a politician should be: brave, intelligent, bold and honest. I don't agree with every issue she raises but I respect her opinions even when they don't mesh with my ideas. I would follow her into battle and would work for her in peace. A person like this would make a fantastic President. No matter who we pit against the Republican machine, they're going to be seen as too liberal. I hope she does run for the White House. I promise, I will back her every step of the way.

12. I think that Barbara Boxer is a dynamo....
But I think that a woman has a much better chance to getting
the WH via the Vice Presidency....and that includes Barbara Boxer. She tough, committed, and is a "pro".

14. Boxer ROCKS!
Too bad people are pushing Hillary lately, because Boxer is 100 times the candidate that Hillary is! What a joke that we may have Hillary forced upon us-which is what the rethugs and the corporate media are trying to do. :puke:
