What the HELL HAPPENED HERE?!?!?
Up until yesterday, the last week has been wonderful at DU. We've found story after story uncovering cracks in the Bush Administration. We had increadible momentum for uniting and getting ready to take apart the administration, LIE BY LIE. People were spreading the word about the DSM, organizing media contacts, LTTEs, Meetups on how we can do something about the newly revealed information.

But in the last 2 days, the forums and talk shows have gotten clogged with NONSENSE about what the chair of the party says. WHO GIVES A HOOT! We've got BIGGER THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT and if you guys get all wrapped up in this crap, we may as well just give Bush the remainder of his term without another word.

Anyone KNOW what Conyer's Signature Count is at yet? I heard only one mention of it on the radio today and we still have work to do to get the message out. Knock this crap off about who said what about who and get back to work people or we'll likely have corrupt republicans running the show for decades to come!

2. well said! I couldn't agree more...
It is time to stop allowing ourselves to be distracted by the Right's patented "Divide and conquer" tactics. Every word we waste as a result of this silly wedge non-issue is valuable time wasted. We need to be calling and e-mailing asking the media why they want to talk about this mundane crap instead of evidence of malfeasance at the highest levels of our Government.

8. I think it's important.
This is the struggle for the soul of the party. Status Quo vs. Status No(More). This war has been fought since DU's inception. The battles got bigger during the primaries and they're getting bigger again because the Chair is giving voice to the outer circle. This will either be a revolution or another purge.

The other stuff is important, too. We can walk and chew gum at the same time.

The time is now for DSM and taking apart the administration.

The time is later for party 'soul-searching'.

by a so many people who don't have the first clue how about things really work.

Washington is a game, sometimes poker, sometimes chess, and more often Go, and you have to know something about the game to appreciate how it's being played.

13. Here is my gut opinion
As you indicated--things were on a roll- UH OH---Bush's Ratings are
aso down. The American People do not believe the war is worth it and
they aso believe we are bogged down in Iraq. For the first time the
Democrats win in a poll as being the party to lead us out of this mess.

WHite House to Mainstream media, Come In White house to Mainstream
Media. My regular Propaganda Arm (Fox) needs help here. We have
to turn this situation around. The OBedient Little PuppiesCorporate Media) went to work full throttle. Let us go after Dean , set up a wedge between him and the Centrists--- get real breathless and truth be damed. We must paint those Dems as inenpt. Keep everything jazzed upso people forget those darned poll numbers and news coming from Iraq. For Gosh sakes, no discusion of DSM, Gitmo or anything that detractsfrom Bush Rule.

We should see the Pups(Corporate Media)lining up for their reward
early next week. I wonder if a tummy tickl will be enough. Maybe an extra tummy rub thrown in for good measure.

You try to convince me there is a Liberal Media.

15. You can't teach a lot of these pople anything...
far too many of them refuse to learn.

We've had people here who were deeply involved in campaigns, and even worked in Congressional offices who were pretty much chased off the boards by the fools and ideologues on our side.

Try to ignore them. Some are simply taken by the moment, and some are completely clueless. Either way, everyone who can should focus on the game that is afoot.

The prize we have to keep our eye on is to get the adults back in charge in Washington.

The daily dramas and press releases of who said what are just all part of the game.

19. I must respectfully disagree
To be fair, This issue has also brought out a lot of Dems who resent the back biting going on...and are getting exposed to 'the real issues'. Not plants, not trolls, but sincere Dems who will grab hold of the 'real issues' when they learn of them. I personally have been in political denial since December...but this brought me out of my lethargy and has re-energized me to become involved again.

Is that bad? Is a few days break that gets more people into the fold again a bad thing? I don't understand why a larger audience is so bad...to isolate oneself is to do the same thing the DNCleadership has done in the past...insulate thenselves from the voice of We The People.

36. I think the goal has been
honestly limited by the capacity of the site and the meagerness of the publicity. To even approach this number the RW has to whip up a national campaign through captive churches and large organizations. This is one House Rep on his web site with some liberal allies jumping on board with disorganized help helter skelter.

Another material proof we always have more and better committed people who only require just truth and not fanaticism.

29. This manufactured crap-storm is a "must have" diversion from recent gains
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 12:21 AM by pat_k
...We've found story after story uncovering cracks in the Bush Administration....

You have hit on the real cause for this manufactured crap-storm. It's a "must have" diversion given the recent opposition gains.

No one should say a word in response to their petty claims of offense. Call on your representatives to simply talk about the important things they are trying to divert our attention from. For example, the Downing Street Memo (DSM) confirmation of the mountains of existing circumstantial evidence that they willfully mislead the nation into a criminal attack on a country that posed no direct threat. Another stolen election. Mehlman’s shameless declaration of http://www.democrats.org/news/200505310003.html">intent to suppress votes and his http://mediamatters.org/items/200506060008">false claims that the DSM has been discredited.

When set against real scandals, this manufactured hysteria is exposed for what it is.

time. Janice Brown getting confirmed. Now who wouldn't want to focus on that? Oil companies diddling our national science and writing the energy policy. Enron criminals getting HUGE federally guaranteed loans buried in the policy. DSM gaining momentum. Iraq escalating. Escalating! Talk of Iran.

These pricks make massive profits by creating chaos, do we still need to wonder why they do it?
