Dean Takes a Lickin', Keeps on Tickin'---
Bring it on, you Republithugs. Dean has genuine populist fire for you. Hey, DeLay, you could even light your fine Cuban cigar on his incendiary rhetoric... chump.

Dean takes fire from Republicans, won't back down

Democratic Party boss Howard Dean, under fire for blunt comments about Republicans, refused to back down on Wednesday and said Republican critics were trying to divert attention from their own failures.

"It's pretty hard to deny that predominantly that's what the Republican Party looks like. It is a party controlled by the conservative Christian agenda," the former Vermont governor said, adding "I'm a white Christian myself."

He said Republicans were trying to make him the issue so they could dodge a discussion about the Iraq war, proposed changes to Social Security and other controversies.

"We believe that this is a diversion from the issues that really matter: Social Security and adequate jobs opportunities, strong public schools, strong defense where our troops aren't pinned down when we should be doing something about Iran and North Korea, because those are real threats to America," Dean said.

1. I posted this earler in LBN and it got added to another thread...
...I loved it! The article is fairly (not greatly but OK) positive about Dean. THIS is why I like the man! He gives 'em Hell and will NOT apologize or back down. He gets his point across and he gets people (esp the media) to LISTEN, particularly the opposition. HA! He KNOWS what he's doing...

10. Psst...
I forgot to check to see if it was posted previously. It's a good one, anyhow, well, good enough.

'Democratic Party Boss Howard Dean' - - I like the sound of it.

'Democratic Party Wishy Washer Terry What's-his'name' - - doesn't work for me.

2. "Dean takes fire from Republicans, won't back down"

Suddenly, I'm in the mood for a little Tom Petty. :evilgrin:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I WON’T BACK DOWN
Well I won’t back down, no I won’t back down
You can stand me up at the gates of hell
But I won’t back down
Gonna stand my ground, won’t be turned around
And I’ll keep this world from draggin’ me down
Gonna stand my ground and I won’t back down
Hey baby, there ain’t no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won’t back down.
Well I know what’s right, I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin’ me around
But I’ll stand my ground and I won’t back down
Hey baby there ain’t no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won’t back down
No, I won’t back down
4. I Love Dean!
Keep telling the truth, no matter how ugly! He stirs things up and somehow gets to the bottom of things. Let him alone, he's not a wimp! Please don't censor him! He's our best shot...
16. Been a Dean fan since he came to Texas...
In the early summer of '03.
While the other Dem candidates, (excepting Kucinich), were wondering how to fashion their middle of the road approach to the Thugs, Dean was giving a free outdoor speech in front of the Dallas Public library, calling out the Thugs on their inherent hypocrisy, the debacle of Iraq... and man was that good, and inspiring.
Forget about the 'scream' which was a load of crap to begin with, Dean's not perfect, but he has the rare ability to speak his mind, and damn the consequences.
Just look at the Right Wing pundits and hacks, tripping all over themselves trying to vilify Dean. It's telling. He's speaking the truth.
AND THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH.
17. Not by the people who elected him chair
From Liberal Oasis blog http://www.liberaloasis.com/archives/060505.htm#060905
Further evidence of that came from Fox News’ Mara Liasson yesterday:
I’ve spent the day calling state party chairs...to find out whether...there was any disenchantment or disappointment in him from outside the Beltway.
Those are the people who elected him...the congressional wing of the Democratic Party never liked him...
...And I haven’t found it...The people that I talked to today say:
“Look...he’s come out to my state...rural parts of my state. We haven’t seen a DNC chair in these parts for a long time. He says he’s going to pay for X number of staff people...he’s a refreshing voice, he’s honest...”
Dean is the leader of the Outside the Washington Beltway rebels and he has our support. Congressional Dems have no power to oust Dean, especially since Dean is breaking DNC fundraising records in an non-national election year.
