I still think that this is all planned out BUT, if the appeasers were worried about what would happen if Dean didn't get the chair gig they should really be worried about what happens if Dean is forced out.

1. YES I WILL LEAVE THE PARTY.
He is the ONLY reason I became involved at all. If he goes, I go.

STRAIGHT to the Greens.

4. and go where?
Dean is the lawfully elected DNC chairman. He has broadbased support among people who are sick of losing elections. He is not going to get "forced out."

5. I will not encourage division in my party, BUT I am making lists of
people who will never receive my support again.
I will happily explain to each of them why when I receive their snail mail w/envelopes included.

Dems will never survive by eating their own, and demoralizing their grassroots support.

14. Yes, they are. We are in total agreement. I should clarify...
I am livid about the "dems" who are taking potshots at our chairman and public swipes at him in order to increase their standing with the republican party.

I refuse to support such traitors to our party ever again.

To them I ask - "Why not go after the Bush admin the way you go after Howard Dean???"

if Dean leaves they're never getting another cent from me. I have only given them 60 bucks since the election, but it's 60 bucks the party never would have seen from me without Howard as chair.

10. Considering the Democrat Party...
is nothing but Repub-lite, YES. There are only a 10 to 12 Reps in the House that are truly Democrats and barely 5 Dem Senators.

As citizens, we are being SLAUGHTERED. We need to burn our government to the ground and start over.

11. Yup! I wish he'd said FAKE Christians that are hijacking real people's
faith in their hate war to hang on to power, but dear lord, Lieberman and other apologists would have shit right on the Senate floor if Dean would have told that much truth all in one soundbyte.

They are all so worried that Dean's support is going to hurt them when they want the Pres nomination in '08.

We've got DSM, Bolton held up, Shrub's poll numbers tanking, Rethugs seriously concerned that their party has led them down a path they don't like and what are the Dems doing? Circular firing squads. Any politician who is so concerned about how things LOOK or SOUND will NEVER, NEVER get another vote or dime from me.

I raise sheep, they can be pretty dumb creatures - sometimes the only way to get their attention is to rap them on the head pretty hard! That's exactly what we're having to do with MSM to pay attention and report something!

20. Only people who want division in the ranks will leave
FACT: The DLC can't do anything right, don't know how to win elections

FACT: Dean makes a spectacle of himself all too often, and the average person will look at him as if he's a kook.

Basically, we have to get our act together or we're really screwed.

24. That makes absolutely no sense
If people want division in the ranks, it would behoove them not to leave, but to stick around and encourage discord, wouldn't it?

Seems to me that, by leaving, people would be removing division from the ranks.

And, though I doubt that Dean's detractors would have the balls to force him out, if it came to it, yeah, that would be it for me.

25. More FACTS!
1. The DLC does not represent the interests of the working man, just the working corporation--they have no clue about populism.

2. Corporate Dems tend to vote with Republicans and if me or mine want to support Republican policies, we will vote Republican.

3. Howard Dean articulates best the concerns of working people and has my family's full support.

4. Unless the Democratic Party rediscovers how to be the party of the working man and woman, my family and I will go too.

5. Good luck with converting Rs.

26. Yes......I've been thinking about the Green party...but am working Dem
on Election Reform within party and am Precinct Delegate. I'm getting sicker and sicker of fighting the do nothing, status quo types in our party who resent us and Dr. Dean.

If they force him out they will lose their activists. And, maybe that's the intention. To "marginalize us into oblivion." It's a mistake for them though because we learned how to organize during the last four years in the wilderness and we are a voice to contend with. I don't know that they see it that way, and maybe I overestimate the power of the Activists, but I'm not going to give up fighting to save our Constitution even if I leave the Dem Party, and neither will the rest of us if we are forced out with Dean.

36. You are correct
DU is like a pressure cooker in regard to this sort of thing.

It was in a different universe during the primary season. Here people from the various camps were at each other's throats, in the real world we all worked on our party fundraisers and various other things without regard to who supported who.

I have learned to basically disregard reaction on DU as representative of the real world. There is no relation.

i already belong to one occupation-supporting party ... who needs another one ??

if Dean, and his supporters, genuinely provided an alternative to the hawkish Democratic Party, although i did not support Dean in the primaries, i would have to give a new party some very, very serious consideration ...
