It's profane, of course, but I loved it.

Heck, it mentions some things I never even considered, such as Dean's willingness to be a lightning rod could take some pressure off our 2008 nominee. Howard's a smart dude; he knows what he's doing.

1. He nailed the rationale
It would not surprise me if this is a "strategery" and a total fakeout. Reid and Dean looked pretty damn chummy up on the Hill today.

If anyone can out-Rove Rove, it's Dean. Rove has way too many irons in the fire, he has to ride herd on the Dunce as well as plot and plan, and he is too settled in. Time to game the bastard, big time!

Is there a thread on it? I've been away from DU since mid-morning.

8. Dunno, but there was no blood on the carpet
...and sincere (or at least sincere LOOKING, and that is hard to do if you do not mean it) smiles all around.

My guess is that they are gaming this for all it is worth. And that Howard Dean is the smartest damn Democrat on the planet....

10. Thanks for the update
I think Dean and Reid are what we need. They call 'em as they see 'em.

9. I think it's a strategy, too
If Dean had just misspoken, it would've been a one-time thing. But he's said a number of hard-hitting comments in succession, without backing down.

11. See, here is how it works, the GOP has used this trick forever
You say something that is a bit Over The Top, and you are virtually ASSURED a slot on several of the Sunday talkers, with the prize being MEET TIM RUSSERT. Then, once you get your pancake on, your hair combed, and your mike in place, you quickly answer or dismiss the questions asked, and PUSH YOUR AGENDA.

It's the old "spell my name right, recognize my face" game. If you are talking SENSE on top of that, you WIN.

Dean is a smart bastard--he is drawing attention to this religio-fascist stranglehold that the right has had on the country for years, and not having to spend a DIME to do it...the lazy, too-clever-by-half, lamestream media is doing all the work for him, and CHASING him to give him free airtime to boot.

And all the GOP can do is sputter...good lad, Howard!!!

2. This guy swears a lot so be forewarned, but I agree
with what he has to say. Dean is breath of fresh air in the stuffy scared dems' back rooms.

3. He's brilliant and in speaking out he is drawing the "dem" cowards out of
their "hidey holes" as you just know they are so "sceerd" of their own shadows that as soon as they hear Howard speak the truth they have to run and distance themselves.
