MSNBC: "Cheney to special ops: 'A long war ahead of us'"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8179304/

TAMPA, Fla. - Vice President Dick Cheney lauded and thanked international special operations soldiers for helping fight terrorism but warned them that their work is far from over.

“We have a long war ahead of us, and our enemies are waiting for us to let our guard down,” Cheney said, speaking Friday to more than 300 people at the closing of the International Special Operations Forces Week conference. “But we will not relent in this effort because we have the clearest possible understanding of what is at stake.”

Cheney warned that the biggest danger is that a terror group, perhaps in concert with an outlaw government, will get hold of weapons of mass destruction. Preventing that, he said, must be a primary goal in the war against international terrorism.

“In the face of such danger, free nations must move decisively to defend ourselves against attack, yet we also understand that this war cannot be won on the defensive,” he said. “In this new era, all civilized nations have a duty — we must defeat the terrorists and we must not allow them to obtain weapons of mass murder.”

1. Define "civilized nation" Dick.
Then correlate that to our own behavior in Iraq.

2. Cheney IS a weapon of mass murder.
" a terror group, perhaps in concert with an outlaw government"...gee who could he be describing?

IRAN and SYRIA perhaps? They've been planting stories that al Qaeda members are holed up there.

"free nations must move decisively to defend ourselves against attack"

Really? Mr. Cheney, when did Iraq ever attack us? And why didn't your state run news channel, FAUX News, cover it?

7. Come to think of it....
when did that walking snarl ever put himself on the line to defend the country? He said he had "other priorities" during the Viet Nam era, and his five deferments show pretty clearly that he prefers to have somebody else "move decisively" if any personal danger or inconvenience is involved.

Translation: If people like you catch on that the "War On Terror" is a scam, I stand to lose millions in deferred Halliburton compensation.

8. He'll need more than those 300

"The undefined goals of the war on terror are making it really hard for the Army to keep people right now," Fulton said.

The Pentagon hopes that by next year, a significant troop reduction in Iraq will allow the Army to slow the pace of troop deployments, giving soldiers two years at home for every year in battle.

Yet Pentagon officials admit it is uncertain that this can happen by 2006.

"I still don't know if we can make it," said a senior Army officer at the Pentagon. "You tell me what Iraq is going to look like next year."

12. Not everything Cheney says is a lie.
"Cheney warned that the biggest danger is that a terror group, perhaps in concert with an outlaw government, will get hold of weapons of mass destruction. Preventing that, he said, must be a primary goal in the war against international terrorism."

Cheney is correct. However his description of terrorists are the people in the present administration who already have control of enough WMD to destroy this planet many times over. The outlaw government is of our own United States. What other country has a need for so many military bases outside their own borders?
The seeds of our destruction were sown after WWII when we imported the German Nazis into this country instead of treating them as the criminals they were/are. Their descendants are running our government now.

14. I see Dick Cheney has not run out of enthusiasm
for his little "Excellent Adventure" in Iraq. However, his allies & his own people are losing their optimism.

Dick knows the fuse is burning, and the public's patience with his insane scheme will run out when a certain number of casualties has been hit. Let's say 10,000. I think that might be the magic number. People will start rioting in the streets, demanding to bring their troops home.

Dick knows it's only a matter of time because the casualties are not going down. They're going up.

That's why he's resorting to abstract ideas, like "the enemy", and so on. To keep his failed fiasco going.

I'll be clipping coupons and cashing checks in an undisclosed location while killing mountains of farm-raised small birds at close range. We're all in this together.
