Photos of LA Demonstration against Ahhnuld
I demonstrated with fellow teachers, nurses, firefighters and other Unions against Ahhnuld Sch-WARTS-enegger on May 25th in Pershing Square, Los Angeles. There were about 10,000 in LA, and another 15,000 or so in Sacramento that day. I am the one who took these photos. Sorry they're late, but as a teacher, I just got out for the summer June 10th and only today got around to posting them on my website.

Enjoy!

4. Yes
That, and he wants to change the amount of time teachers have to wait to get "tenure" (really "due process"). Another initiative that qualified is attempting to force Unions to get something in writing EACH year from members okay-ing them spending their dues on candidates and initiatives. This is a blantant attempt to weaken the power of Unions in California.

2. Very cool. I was there.
My sign read:

Why is Arnold attack those who serve children? (on one side)
This isn't a movie... it's children's lives! (on the other side!)

8. Pasadena!
Actually, I use to be full time. I left to get a Masters degree and now sub in special ed. So, technically, I'm no longer part of the union, although subs have been tossing the idea of asking to join the union.

12. Pasadena?!
My hubby and I LOVE Pasadena as a weekend get-away. We have season's tickets to the Pasadena Playhouse. We'll be up June 24th to see "Purlie". We've been many times to the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens, Descanso Gardens, LA Arboretum, Santa Anita racetracks....and so on. Also, I once subbed in So Pasadena 1992. It was $80 a day then. Now I am a full time teacher with the Bakersfield City School District. I teach 4th grade.

9. Thanks!
Brilliant pictures. Thanks to all who took the time to protest SchwarzRenegger.

I wish people would base their political decisions on something more substantial than talk show hoopla. Then maybe faded movie starz would take up some other retirement 'hobby'.

10. Good job California!
Since Schwarzenegger likes his phony-baloney Hollywood shoot-em-ups so much, I'll put this in terms he'll understand:

We're at the point when the heretofore invincible bad guy has finally revealed the chink in his armor, and the plucky heroes are coming off the deck, making their plan to take advantage of that chink and take down the bad guy.

And just so you don't misunderstand, Ah-nuld:

You = Bad Guy

The good people of the State of California = Plucky heroes

I suppose if Ah-nuld wants to blunt these demonstrations in the future, he could always spread the rumor that Tom Arnold is scheduled to appear.

11. The 'press' doesn't report on Arnold outside of CA anymore.
I guess they got the message that the dew is off the rose.
