7. Umm nothing in the Pottery Barn Rule about fixing it
Once you own it, you can do whatever the fuck you want with it. Which is what the GOP seems to be doing right now.

9. And A fine job they are doing of it, aren't they?
/sarcasm off

I keep looking at *'s approval rating in amazement. Then I realize that half of the population is below average intelligence.

So I wonder is the solution will be to let the invisible hand of natural selection work it's magic by thinning the herd.

It is hard to muster sympathy for those who are still trying to gnaw holes in the social safety net, even as they hang from it.

5. Irrational Fear of People NOT LIKE ME
The Republican Party, the party of big business, corporations, and the concentrated economic power of America, has conned most of the non-urban middle class, especially in the South, into thinking the following two things:

1. That the Old Guard Republicans will let them into the country club (which will never happen);

AND

2. That the rising ethnic, economic and social diversity of American urban life (which those of us immersed in it mostly find exhilirating) is SCARY and, if not stamped out, will result in that same group of people losing what stake they have built in the American economy since FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT and the Democratic Party brought them flush toilets, cars, roads, rural electrification and a host of other door-openers.

What a con job. And they don't even suspect what the Republican Old Guard REALLY thinks of them.
