Anyone here know just what the Pentagon papers were? I am not old enough to know the details first hand. Just what I have read about it. It seems to me that these memos are the most credible thing we have had yet to make our case that the whole thing was cooked up. I wonder who is leaking this stuff over in the UK. All I have to say is thank God there is no "gate" attached to the end of this scandal! It is do tired. Downing Street sounds so much better. Good catch phrase. Easy to say on Tv interview....'and as the Downing Street memos prove this whole thing was planned to be a war in the end'. Remember Ted Kennedy saying the whole thing was cooked up in Texas.

2. The message now is weasel-wording the meaning of "fixed"

"The intelligence was fixed". The RW message machine is now saying that fixed has a different meaning in the US vs. Britain. In the US, the meaning is certainly nefarious, but they are contending that it is a lighthearted critique in the Queen's English. edit:speling

4. There is No "gate" attached to the Scandal

because the Rethuglican media has no intention of allowing it to turn into a scandal at all.
They want it to go away.
The Clear Channels and the Fauxes and the ABCs like this regime very
much, because they are allowed virtually unlimited expansion of their
broadcast networks in exchange for putting out the regime's talking
points as "news" (which also saves them the risk and expense of
running a real news department).
