This is an excuse for going into Iran. Read the DSMs. This sounds like a ploy directly out of the strategy sessions reflected in the DSMs. How can we fix the intelligence. They tried the WMD thing in Iran too. I don't think they've totally given up on it, but Iran is not cooperating (meaning the opposite) as much as they probably wish. This is the second "fecta" of the trifects -- WMDS (they've already been working on that one) -- terrorism (this is it). Now if they can just get a UN resolution (the third "fecta"), they'll be set to send in the troops. And isn't Iraq the perfect launching pad?

Of course, the regime in Iran is as corrupt and nasty as they get, and it does not have my sympathy. But still, how easy is it to ignore the rule of law about invading other peoples' countries? What gives us the privilege of making up facts to justify taking over other countries?

Figuratively. We have a television, but it's only connected to a DVD player, no cable, and not even an antenna since Bill Moyers left Now.

And do you know what? I don't miss it at all. I watch Daily Show clips from their website, I watch some CSPAN on their website, and the occasional clip that is posted here. That more than covers my TV-watching needs. And looking back, I have no idea how I ever had time to stop and watch television. Newton Minnow was right.
