I'm thinking of naming a star after Bush
You can actually name your own star for $54 here:

http://www.starregistry.com/

I think there should be a star named after Bush. Maybe something like Liar Major.

Any suggestions?

19. LMAO. That would be a good one.
Too bad we would have to name a real dim star the Death Star. Bush certainly isn't the brightest star in the sky!

8. About the Star Registry
Very bright stars are normally designated by the Constellation in which they appear and a designator. E.G., Alpha Orion is Rigel, the brightest star in Orion. Beta Orion is Betelgeuse, etc.

Many stars are known by the name of the astronomical catalog in which they are listed. There are several prominent star catalogs. E.G., Groombridge. Each catalog designates their stars in a unique way, usually some numerical designation.

Stars are never named after people, places, or things.

The Star Registry is an outfit where you pay money to have the right to pretend that a star is named after something. In reality, no astronomer will ever use the Star Registry's catalog. So, it's a vanity thing which has nothing to do with how stars are designated. Some would call it a rip-off.

Caveat emptor.
