Just for the record, Jon Stewart proved last night that he

didn't "cave" with Colin Powell.

If you recall, many thought he was soft on Powell a few nights ago...while some of us thought he was setting Powell up with questions that basically outlined all the crap that Bushco had perpetrated. And Powell, of course, ignored answering most of them....

Last night, with Larry Diamond, it was clear what Jon was trying to do when Powell was on. He referred to Powell specifically as an example of how everyone in the Administration has a "facade", that they either don't know what's going on or that they simply think everything is fine and nothing breaks through that facade.

So, hats off to Jon. While being polite to Powell he was reciting a litany of transgressions by Bushco in his questioning of Powell for public consumption. And, in a follow up, he indicated what his assessment of Powell et al really are...one huge facade.

he was hammering him. but yes, he made it clear last night. stewart just doesnt call his guest a liar or jump on them like sone would want. not his style.

11. John Stewart is easy on his guests for a reason

He wants these people on his show. If Stewart sledghammered them they'd avoid him like the plague.

Every once in a while he'll gently slip the stilleto in and the amusing thing is that usually they don't realize it's happening.
