(Maine) Democratic State Committee Supports Dean Unanimously

AUGUSTA –The Maine Democratic State Committee voted unanimously Sunday on a resolution supporting the leadership of DNC Chairman Howard Dean. The resolution, presented to the committee at the monthly meeting by York County Chairwoman Maxine Adams of Biddeford states:

“Now is the time for Democrats everywhere to raise their voices in support of the tremendous job that Governor Dean is doing to bring our Party back to a fifty state grassroots strategy. People are thrilled to have a leader who is willing to fight back and speak the truth about how radical and extreme the Republican Party has become.”

State Committeeman Wayne Hollingsworth of Freeport seconded the motion with great enthusiasm. “We Mainers are an honest bunch. We are honestly proud of the way Howard Dean has taken on the half truths and deception of the Republican spin machine,” he said.

THE DEMOCRATIC STATE COMMITTEE OF THE MAINE DEMOCRATIC PARTY SUPPORTS HOWARD DEAN, CHAIR OF THE DNC.

WE ENDORSE HOWARD DEAN'S EFFORTS TO ENGAGE THE GRASS ROOTS AND TO FUND AND EMPOWER THE STATE, COUNTY AND TOWN COMMITTEES SO THAT THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS PLAY A LARGER ROLE IN DEMOCRATIC PARTY DECISION-MAKING.

WE PROTEST THE PUBLIC STATEMENTS OF A SMALL NUMBER OF ELECTED DEMOCRATIC LEGISLATORS CRITICAL OF HOWARD DEAN'S ACTIONS AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE DNC.

WE CALL ON THE DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEES IN ALL STATES TO ISSUE A SIMILAR VOTE OF CONFIDENCE FOR HOWARD DEAN.
